Meet Madison Munoz | Couples + Elopement / Wedding Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Munoz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madison, why did you pursue a creative career?
I want to touch as many lives as I can. I want to leave people with beautiful timeless portraits they can reflect on for many many years to come.
The value of a photograph is something irreplaceable. Unbeatable. I want to look back on all my years, sessions, and stories I captured and remember every single moment in between each image.
I want each person who works with me, to feel heard…seen…and beautiful.
If I knew in the end I did that for hundreds of couples and individuals…I will know I have succeeded as a creative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in capturing all things couples and love! From elopements with just the couple and their furry friends to traditional weddings, I love capturing not only all the big moments but all those in between moments that may have been missed throughout the day!
I am most proud of all the stories I have been able to hear, learn, and capture thus far. It is such a rewarding feeling to hit send on a final gallery and within minutes get those heart-warming thankful messages. As I mentioned earlier, all of my clients have become life long friends. It goes so much more beyond just their support. I am so excited to continue meeting wonderful people. capturing their heartfelt stories, and simply just watching my business grow.
Starting this journey was nothing short of a challenge. Endless hours educating myself, lots of trial and errors, little to no personal time for myself. Yet on the other side of that coin, I met so many amazing individuals and couples who completely trusted me and my vision. I was able to grow quickly, learn what my brand was and what it stood for, and the style I wanted to develop as a photographer.
I think its so important for any creative to know the cliche…never give up. You’ve got to put in those long hours, use all your resources, and overcome those challenges to come out bright on the other side.
Let’s just say, I am so blessed I am. I wouldn’t trade what I do for the world. A big challenge I faced in the beginning was feeling the urge to know absolutely everything right off the bat..I quickly realized that wasn’t possible. There is always room to grow, to learn. And those things come within time. I also spent probably 85% of my time editing. It was quite exhausting. But I knew I had to keep going. As I grew, I was finally able to find that work/life balance while still doing and putting in just as much time as before.
The number one thing I want others to know about my brand is the way I connect to my couples. I learn your story well before our session so I can figure out how I can best create it. I edit pretty true to color with slight warmth. I am obsessed with the right moments being in black + white with slight grain!!
I want others to know, everyone is always welcomed in front of my camera. All couples, all individuals, everyone. There will never be any judgement coming from me. I promise to always provide a safe space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
GOOD QUESTION!!! I absolutely love the great outdoors. So a majority of that time would be spent there. I personally love Lake City, CO. It is truly the perfect little mountain town. And the camping spots over there?!! Breathtaking. My favorite one being Castle Lakes Campground. After spending a few days soaking up the sun in South west Colorado, we’d venture back to the metro Denver area to hit all of my favorite coffee shops and food spots such as Happy Camper and Hello Darling. Take a trip to the botanical gardens because no matter how many times I go, every single time seems different than the last. Walk around Broadway to visit all the cute vintage stores. Thrifting is absolutely one of my favorite things, so we couldn’t skip on that!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My clients. I literally would not be where I am today without all of their unconditional love and endless support. They all have become life long friends. Seriously. I become so connected to them and their stories, I truly get so excited after our sessions to stay connected and close. Being able to capture a stage in their relationships and continue to watch them build and grow is so heart warming. It inspires me every single day.
Also, my fiancé. My business has only been able to grow as much as it has with the help of him. Coming with me to my sessions, recording behind the scenes, helping with ideas to better little things like my website, my social media, or even suggesting a pose/prompt at my sessions with my couples! He has truly allowed me to pursue my dream and pushes me to never give up.
