Meet Madison Sapp | Business owner, entrepreneur, baker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Sapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madison, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had some health issues come up in November of 2024 and had to leave my nanny job. I was beyond bummed and confused at what was happening but I knew there was something good to come out of it. With that I wanted to start something I can do from home, make my own hours, that I’m passionate about and that will impact others! I’ve been a baker my whole life and I’ve always dreamed of owning my own bakery! I had a lot of time on my hands and instead of sitting around i decided to use the time I had to drive me into starting my business. I spent three months cultivating recipes, working on what I want to do, how I want to do it, pricing, social media etc. in February of this year I launched my home bakery Cowgirl Cupcakes!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I strive to make the best baked goods that are healthy and won’t break the bank! In this day and age it is hard to find good quality baked goods!! You pay for things twice, payment wise and health wise! I never want to compromise my health for a good treat!! So with that I wanted to do different and make a change! I had to make a change for myself when some health issues drastically changed my life but then I thought… what about making something good for everyone not just me!! All my ingredients are organic, NON GMO, no synthetic ingredients, no bio engineered ingredients, raw cane sugar and I get my eggs locally sourced! They have the look and taste even better!!
It hasn’t been easy by any means but it is so beyond worth it. The look on a mom’s face when she knows a cupcake or cookie is healthy and tasty for her child or when I get to be apart of big moments like weddings, baby shower, promotions etc! It makes all the hard work, long nights and mental exhaustion worth it!
I live by the quote ‘pick a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’ but also you’ll work twice as hard as anyone because you love what you do! I want everyone to know that it will be hard but worth it. You can do it despite what others tell you or think! I overcome my challenges by leaning on the Lord, my family and my boyfriend! They keep me going, keep me on track, encourage me, help me and support me through it all!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooo so many good places!! I would take them downtown Parker for a cute hallmark feeling! I would treat them to a coffee at Oo-de-lally in castle rock or brew due south in Lafayette! I would take them to a good river spot up in the mountains! I’m a line and swing dancer so I would take them to The Grizzly rose for some boot scootin! I would take them to grab a bite at Snarfs sandwich’s for lunch, Los Dos Portillos for dinner and heavens creamery for dessert!! To many good places!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have a few people in mind i want to shout out!! I have the most supportive parents in the world, my mom Lanette and dad Jason! My dad has been my taste tester for any recipe good or bad! Mt mom has helped me with the social media side and given me the best advice! They have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams! And lastly I want to shout out my amazing boyfriend Colby! He has stuck by my side, supported me, helped me, encouraged me and has been my biggest cheerleader! I wouldn’t be where I am without them!!
