We had the good fortune of connecting with Marco Galindo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marco, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because to me it feels the most natural to me. I have always had an affinity for music, photography and visuals. I grew up watching a lot of music on MTV and VH1 as a kid, and of course listening to music through CD’s and Cassettes. Hip-Hop, Regional Mexican, and R&B is what I grew up on. So recently these past two years I started to write songs, work on producing music with my close friends and I am feeling a whole sense of fulfillment. I am drawn to meeting other artists and I have an appreciation for what they do, no matter what it is they focus on!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe that my art really comes from my heart and soul. I write, and rap my own experiences that I have learned and I don’t allow others to write for me. I am involved in the creative process all the way through musically and that really keeps the authenticity for the music. I love using my camera to capture photos of things I love and also love to share those images with the world. I don’t stick to one type of song, or photo, but whatever I am feeling at the time. Life is full of different moments so writing about how I feel in the moment can help others relate to what I have done.

I am most proud of the personal growth and self love I have gained within myself. I am able to project that knowledge and wisdom to others and that makes me happy. Staying with your passions and trying your best to live through them makes for a more enjoyable time and thats the best value you can take in and give back out. The most challenging part of gaining your confidence and trust is taking risks and being okay with the results, regardless of success or failure. I began to understand that failure is a part of the process and it’s okay to accept it and move along with it as long as you learn from it.

I want the world to understand my motto about being an Anomaly. You are unique and you have value that you can share with the world. You are born with talent that you can better each day. That’s why my businesses and art all have the words ANOMALOUS embedded in them. For example my music group is called the ANOMALOUS EMPIRE, and my Youtube channel is called the ANOMALOUS NETWORK. I want people to know it’s okay to be you and be different!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was born and raised in Greeley, CO. I still am here now. I will forever have a love for my city and I hold it dearly in my heart. For someone who is not from here, I highly encourage they go and learn about the Greeley themselves. I believe it is a great place to be.

I love the growing diversity of Greeley in recent years and it will only get more diverse as we grow. I come from a Latino family and there are a lot of people of the same ethnicity here too. Greeley has a growing African population, and asian population as well. Lots of different cultures mix together here.

My favorite spots are East Memorial Park, this is where I grew up playing basketball, nowadays I coach basketball at the Boys and Girls Club – Pawl Clubhouse. These two places kept me away from trouble and molded my athletic ability and work-ethic. I enjoy riding my bike around the University of Northern Colorado, and Glenmere Park.

My favorite food spots I grew up on are staples of Greeley and Colorado. I love eating at the many taco trucks posted on busy intersections in the city, specifically off of 8th Ave during the weekends. Wing Shack on 8th Ave in Garden City is a landmark of the area and I highly encourage people check out this spot. Order you some chicken wings with Garlic Hot, or Golden Hot sauce on a Monday with Crinkle-Cut fries and a drink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love to dedicate all I have learned to the people who have taught me directly and indirectly. This life is an amazing experience and I owe my success to a lot of people I have met, and learned from. I owe my music passions to my sister Lisette for glueing me to the couch as a kid while she watching TRL and MTV Music videos, and live performances. That really sparked my love for hip-hop. I began to listen to people like Jay-Z, 50 Cent and many more artists in the genre and outside of it. Although I never met those people, their stories are inspiring to say the least. I also give lots of gratitude for my friends and bandmates, Johnny (PHNTM) and Marcos (The Chosen Trill) for allowing me to express my thoughts and passion for music through our group (The Anomalous Empire), the have truly allowed me to flourish as my stage name Brother Most Gifted). I attribute a lot of my headspace in mindset to the countless books I have read as well. I also want to thank my friends and amazing musicians Havea (Rev. Da IV), and JD (JD. The M.C.) for being real life role models in music for me. I want to also thank Maurilio Tapia for what he has done for me creatively building an artistic identity as well! I want to end it with thanking my family, and god for all they have provided me as well! Thank you!
