We had the good fortune of connecting with Maree McRae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maree, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Both my work as Music Ambassador for Mental Health and my Non Profit help so many I feel. My songs written from experiencing the broken mental health care system I hope are a comfort to others experiencing the same thing, with loved ones, to know that they are not alone. My Non Profit Heart Mind Connect is opening the first of it’s kind exclusive LGBTQ+ wellness housing here in Denver, and it is so greatly needed. Oh my gosh…no words on how it feels to be able to offer services that are presently lacking for those struggling.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe my life experiences in the trenches of mental health issues with loved ones, has set me apart and has allowed the songs to pour from my brokenness and grief watching the suffering. I overcome where I’ve been by offering the services of Heart Mind Connect to help change and save lives with the invaluable incredible hearts of our volunteers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Not sure on that one…between COVID and starting the Non Profit, I’m afraid haven’t got out much! I would share our incredible Colorado sunshine in our incredible mountain spaces and parks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All those struggling to make it through our broken mental health care system are my ultimate heroes.
