We had the good fortune of connecting with Marin (noelle) Sorrentino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marin (Noelle), what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Originally, it was out of spite. I was 13 sitting in a Chinese restaurant when I decided to become a pro wrestler, it was because of a snide remark my uncle had made about my 8 year old fantasy of one day headlining WrestleMania. It was in that moment everything I did (for better or for worse) was for wrestling. I got a job as soon as I could, saved pennies and quarters. The farther I went the less it became about the faithful day in the Chinese restaurant and the more and more it became about proving to myself that I could do hard things. I wanted to purse it not only because I loved it because I wanted to prove that I could. To myself and others
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Pro wrestling is one of the most misunderstood arts in the world, Why? Because people don’t see it as an art. It’s the art of storytelling, I get to be a real life superhero/villain playing out a story right infront of your eyes. People are quick to write wrestling off as “Fake” or struggle to understand how dangerous what we do in the ring is, Not only that but wrestlers are on 27/4. We aren’t actors, We ARE the character. From the moment the fans see me I am Noelle. Marin isn’t checked in. But, it’s all worth it when a little girl comes up to me and tells me how much I’ve inspired them and how they wanna be just like me when they grow up. It takes me back to when I was them, watching.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was looking for a fun time in Denver I would look to its night life! If you enjoy dancing, Tracks is a classic and high energy spot to go let off some steam on the dance floor! Afterwards (if they’re still open lol!) I would recommend Tea Garden (Yes the infamous Chinese restaurant) My family has been going there for years, they’re the best!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Matt Yaden and the team at Rocky Mountain Pro. They provided me with the best training/on hands experience in the state. The school was started by my Coach, Matt Yaden in 2014. I was 16 years old when I came to them and they took the best care of me., wrestling is a tricky place especially when you’re young, they made sure I had all the guidance I needed to be successful
