We had the good fortune of connecting with Max Venus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Max, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I believe discipline, consistency and & passion play big factors in achieving your goals. You have to love what you do & put the work in to see the results you desire.

I also think patience is something that can be really beneficial. Success doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a long process of losing hours of sleep, lots of planning & execution. From the outside, people think it was easy for you but they haven’t seen all of the hardships, challenges & failures you had to overcome.

You’re going to fail over & over again & there’s nothing wrong with that. What’s most important, is how you learn from those failures. Use that as motivation to succeed the next time..No matter what you should never give up on yourself or your goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a 24 year old artist, producer & audio engineer. I have been making music since I was 11 years old. I’ve had many challenges, roadblocks & obstacles to get through along the way but against all odds, I’ve made it this far.

My determination is to thank for why I am here today. Without my will to succeed, I would not be able to accomplish my goals. One thing I have learned over the years, is that you can’t let other people’s opinions of you shape your future. Not everybody will be satisfied or understand the nature of your dreams, so as long as you focus on your passion, you will have a life that is fulfilled with purpose.

I want the world to know that my music is a reflection of who I am, & know that they are not alone in this journey of life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably show them some local restaurants downtown. Denver has a lot of great food places & hibachi is my favorite so most likely something like that. I would take them to the casinos in Blackhawk (hopefully not losing money). I’ve been wanting to go to Meow Wolf so we’d go see what that’s looking like. Probably go to The 1UP arcade, stroll down 16th Street Mall & visit some popups.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I want to give a shoutout to my mother Angela and my grandma Clairette.. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without their love & support.

My brothers, business partners, & co-owners of our label OuterZone Records: AJ Blu & JaSew. They’ve helped me get through some of my challenges & I can always count on them to have my back.

Shoutout to my son Kingston, he’s the reason why I work so hard to make my dreams come true.

I love y’all, I’m grateful to have such amazing people in my life.
