Hi Marcela, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most critical factor behind the success of Captured by Marcela, and what sets my brand apart, is my unwavering commitment to creating a truly unforgettable and intimate elopement experience for my couples. At the heart of my success is my dedication to helping couples break free from the constraints of traditional weddings and embrace the beauty of eloping.

First and foremost, I prioritize the couple’s vision for their special day. As a Colorado Elopement Photographer, I understand that each love story is unique, and I celebrate that uniqueness by working closely with my clients to design the elopement day of their dreams. I firmly believe in kicking obligations to the curb, allowing couples to craft a day that authentically reflects their love story, values, and desires.

But my success goes beyond just capturing stunning images. It’s about creating honest moments of intimacy and laughter that genuinely reflect the raw emotions of my couples. I stay away from stiff and awkward poses in favor of genuine, heartfelt interactions. My passion lies in capturing the real love stuff—the playful laughter, the tender embraces, the vulnerability, and the sweet nothings that define a couple’s love.

My journey as a Colorado Elopement Photographer is a testament to the power of passion and authenticity. What sets me apart is my unwavering dedication to capturing not just pictures but genuine emotions, real love stories, and intimate moments.

My path to where I am today has been anything but easy. It’s been a rollercoaster ride filled with challenges and triumphs. I’ve learned that success in this field isn’t about taking pictures; it’s about creating experiences that couples cherish for a lifetime.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of connection. Building trust and genuine rapport with my couples is at the core of what I do. It’s not just about pointing a camera and clicking; it’s about making them feel comfortable, valued, and truly themselves.

Another lesson I’ve embraced is the power of storytelling. Every elopement is a unique narrative, and I’m passionate about telling that story authentically. It’s about capturing the little moments, the laughter, the tender embraces, and the genuine connections that define their love.

I want the world to know that my brand isn’t just about photography; it’s about creating memories and experiences that transcend the visual. It’s about celebrating love in its purest form, unburdened by convention or obligation. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My work has taken me to the most amazing places in Colorado and I’ve been able to capture my couples enjoying so many unique adventures. I definitely have a few favorite spots in mind:

Crested Butte is an absolutely amazing town about four hours from Denver and it’s surrounded by beauty. There are a lot of amazing hikes here one of my favorite is Rustlers Gulch. There are so many beautiful wildflowers and even a waterfall on the trail. visiting the ghost town of Gothic is a must. I really love stopping at The Sunflower for their sandwiches and salads and having a really good cocktail at Montanya Distillers.

Buena Vista would also be on the list of places I take them. They have white water rafting on the Arkansas River as well as lots of hiking trails off Cottonwood Pass. After all of the adventures, we would definitely take a day to soak at Mount Princeton Hot Springs. Some of my favorite restaurants are House Rock Kitchen and Simple Eatery. I can’t get enough of their bread.

Rocky Mountain National Park is also a must. Taking the scenic drive along Trail Ridge Road is epic. The Notchtop Bakery and Cafe has some really great homemade pastries and I also really like eating at Bird and Jim.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My deepest appreciation goes out to the extraordinary couples who have chosen to embark on the journey of eloping. These couples are the true stars of my story and the heart of my success. Their determination to cast aside conventions and shape a wedding day that genuinely mirrors their individual love stories, principles, and aspirations is truly awe-inspiring.

It’s an honor to work with these couples, witnessing their love stories unfold in the most intimate and genuine way possible. Their bravery in choosing love over tradition and their commitment to celebrating their love in their own way is what fuels my passion for elopement photography.
