Meet Meagan Lamontine | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meagan Lamontine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meagan, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember the creative photos I took. I want to be remembered as an artist with a creative vision that other creatives could collaborate with to make impactful art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I began my photography journey taking photos at concerts and then moved on to more traditional photography. I have photographed a little bit of everything over the years, honing my craft. In that time, my photography has evolved, leading me to focus on creative photography. My photography is my art. I feel it’s about exploring new dimensions, pushing boundaries, and crafting images that resonate deeply. I’m passionate about collaborating with fellow creatives to make art that transcends the ordinary.
Getting to where I am today was no easy feat. For a long time, I felt like I was in a box and was required to do what others did in order to gain clients. When I realized that I didn’t need to keep my art in a box, I felt free. I didn’t stress about making money with it because this is something I want to do. Even if I’m the only one that sees my work. Of course, I’d love for multitudes of people to see and love my work, but my ultimate goal is making art. It was a challenge taking that step out of my comfort zone to where I am today, but growth happens outside of comfort zones, so they say.
Lessons I’ve learned along the way are that, if something sets your soul on fire and you love to do it, just do it. Not everything has to have a price tag on it. You can create for the sake of creating. Additionally, I am always growing in this art. I don’t believe I’ll ever be done growing, learning, and exploring my artistic potential and that is what makes me so excited to be a photographer.
I would like the world to know that my story is continuous. I’m looking forward to making impactful art in the near future and can’t wait to see what creatives and I come up with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a Greeley gal, I would take them to some breweries here in town like Weldwerks and Wiley Roots. Luna’s Tacos and Tequila is downtown too, we would definitely have to stop there for some delicious food. I would also take them to Ft. Collins to Beau Jo’s pizza. That’s a must try! Downtown Ft. Collins is a lot of fun to just walk around and check out some shops. If they came in the summer, we would absolutely make the trip to Red Rocks, either to see a concert or just have a picnic in the park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out all the creatives that I have had the pleasure of working with over the years. My fellow photographers and models I get to work with inspire me every time we shoot together. Shooting at Jonny Edward’s studio inspired me to shift my creative focus into what sets my soul on fire. Shoutout to Hans and Michelle Smits for their Good Vibes photography group! (Find them on Facebook to join the fun). My dear friends Cami Bruce and Shelby Lien are incredibly inspiring too! I absolutely adore getting creative with them and the friendships we have cultivated because of photography.
