We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Casasola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Personally, I don’t think I’m successful. However, I have grown so much as a creative over the past few years. It’s very encouraging for me when I look back to where I started with a love for documenting the little moments. There have been many highs and also many lows during this growing process, but that’s life. I hope to continue to grow and learn as a photographer, filmmaker, and overall individual with the help of Christ. I have been blessed with so many gifts and abilities that have allowed me to serve others through creative outlets, especially when it comes to people. I love people! It brings me joy to meet new people and learn about their hobbies and gifts. The fact that I can serve others and document their stories is truly such a blessing, and it’s the coolest thing! I do believe that communicating with a client well and being encouraging is at the front of my business, and this has helped me to develop friendships and create beautiful memories for so many individuals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love meeting new people and being able to create art and document life by using their stories. I have learned so much through YouTube videos, meeting people within the photography and filmmaking industry and asking them questions, internships, and other ways. No, it’s not easy. Forming a business can be daunting, frustrating, and stressful, but it’s worth it. I have surrounded myself with an encouraging community, especially when it comes to my family and loved ones. They are all very encouraging. However, I believe asking questions to those who are more experienced in a certain field is very helpful. I have slowly learned not to compare myself to other creatives, how to surrender my business to Christ, how to be more intentional with my time, and I have learned a lot when it comes to social media management for my business. Quite honestly, I don’t need the world to know me or my story. I have my family, my closest friends, I’m loved, and I have the desire to create. That’s enough for me. However, to directly answer the last question… I guess I would want the world to know that intentionality matters. Putting others before yourself matters. I am here to serve others, because I have been blessed and loved.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who deserve credit for helping me along the way such as my family, my closest friends, Adam, Christopher, Tyler, and Logan. These people have taught, inspired, encouraged, and pushed me to always try my best.
