We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Packard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I read a plethora of books, in all genres. I read traditionally and self-published nooks. My preferred genre to read would be comedic thrillers (granted, I write in this genre), but I also read sci-fi, romance, historical fiction, non-fiction, YA, and more. The last book I read that had an impact would be Redhead and the Ghostwriter by Ivan Scott. It’s a contemporary romance comedy and it just gave you all the good feels you wanted. It was light hearted, but sincere, funny, while hopeful, and just made you want to smile when you finished reading. Highly recommend!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started writing my first series in 2018. My twins had just left for college, and I was ready to do something new. I think my family was personally hoping I’d go back to the corporate world, but I had no desire. They are my biggest advocates, but they are secretly hoping for a movie deal.

I decided to write a book that I wanted to read. Not too long, with a touch of sarcasm to boot. Something you could read on a long plane ride or one day of vacation. I hate lugging big books on travel. I wrote the first book in thirty days, playing off current events. My friends seemed to like it, so I self-published thinking that is that. I’m affectionately known as “AESOP” by my family and friends due to my penchant for embellishment,

I made quite a few mistakes. but with time, learned the trade and have been recognized and awarded by several organizations on my literary journey. I have seven books to date with more coming!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d pick my friend up from DEN airport and we’d go to Nola’s Voodoo Tavern in Denver for the best cajun seafood in town. Then we’d drive to Rox Park where I live and hike with my dogs and hope to see a concert at Red Rocks. After waking refreshed, we’d hit Breck or Vail for a day of skiing, where she would recommend that we need a massage and go to Five Wellbeing to treat ourselves in Littleton. If she was in for an extended time, we’d hit Steamboat for their wine festival or Telluride for Blues and Brews.

We’d laugh hard and check calendars for when we could do it all over again.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve been so fortunate to have other amazing authors enter my life. A special thanks to these that I call friends that help me navigate this author world and make me laugh:
