We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As a music producer, I don’t just arrange music and balance budgets; I’m a conductor of musical alchemy, transforming raw talent into sonic gold. Beyond the studio, I’m a guide through the labyrinth of the music industry, helping bands and artists navigate its twists and turns post recording. For me, music isn’t just an art form; it’s pure enchantment, the closest thing to magic in our world. My passion lies in unveiling this enchantment to the masses, leveraging three decades of industry connections to unveil the hidden gems of sound that become the soundtrack to people’s lives. Crafting ear candy isn’t just a job—it’s a mission to provide the escape and inspiration our community craves, shaping the symphony of existence one track at a time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, music isn’t just about performing live; it’s about the thrill of creation, the artistry of orchestration, and the alchemy of turning mere notes into a symphonic masterpiece. There’s a certain magic in piecing together an arrangement, like solving a musical puzzle where every note, every chord, finds its perfect place. What begins as a bland melody can transform into a savory dish with just the right amount of spice—a symphony that tantalizes the senses and leaves a lasting impression.

Musical education forms the cornerstone of this creative alchemy. While experimentation is exhilarating, understanding the theory behind the music is what elevates it from mere noise to timeless art. It’s about knowing not just how to play, but why certain notes and harmonies complement each other, allowing for innovation that stands the test of time, ensuring each composition is a unique expression of creativity.

But perhaps the most profound lesson I’ve gleaned from my journey is the importance of treating each recording like a business card. In an industry where first impressions are everything, your recorded work is your calling card—a reflection of your skill, passion, and dedication. Surrounding yourself with experts who can polish every aspect of your production, from arrangement to mastering, is essential. With their expertise, every brass section can gleam like gold, ensuring that your musical legacy shines brightly for years to come.

Taking them to Sunshine Studios Live would be an absolute must. It’s not just a music venue and recording studio—it’s a vibrant hub of artistic energy that I’m incredibly proud to call home. With an indoor capacity of 750 and an outdoor space accommodating up to 2400, there’s a kaleidoscope of musical experiences waiting to be explored. From intimate concerts to epic live events, Sunshine Studios Live is a melting pot of sounds and sensations, complemented by a bar staffed with personalities as eclectic as the music itself.

And let’s not forget about the heart of it all—my homebase studio nestled within Sunshine Studios. Here, I’ve had the privilege of recording many National Acts who fly in to collaborate in our creative workspace. But beyond that, it’s a launching pad for aspiring bands, where we sculpt their sound and polish their craft, transforming raw talent into polished gems ready for the world stage.

Of course, no trip to Colorado would be complete without indulging in the culinary delights of King Chef and embarking on a scenic journey through the majestic mountains, winding along dirt roads that whisper tales of adventure and awe. It’s a sensory feast for the soul, where every twist and turn reveals a new facet of nature’s grandeur.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
n the tapestry of my life, I’ve been blessed with the presence of mentors whose brilliance not only illuminated my path but also fueled the fire within me for a future ablaze with possibilities. My parents, paragons of diligence and empathy, instilled in me a work ethic and interpersonal finesse that have proven invaluable. At an impressionable age, my father gifted me a tome that would become my North Star: Dale Carnegie’s ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’—an instructional compass guiding me through the labyrinth of human connection, a tool whose wisdom reverberates through every success in my career.

But my journey was also serenaded by the harmonies of music, echoing through the streets of my community, where luminaries of the touring circuit imparted their wisdom. Among them stood Huston Barger, a virtuoso guitarist whose talent defied his years, a beacon of inspiration and friendship that illuminated my formative years. And as fate wove its intricate patterns, I crossed paths with another maestro, Randy Hayes, the country guitar deity of our town, whose benevolence opened doors and continues to illuminate the corridors of the industry even today. Their mentorship not only shaped my musical prowess but also sculpted the very essence of who I am, infusing my journey with harmony, rhythm, and an unwavering spirit of gratitude
