We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Odle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always loved beauty and self-care. My daily routines are a way to ground myself—a quiet ritual that makes me feel connected, nourished, and whole. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve found myself craving more simplicity—cleaner, more natural ingredients that feel good on my skin and align with how I want to live.

A few years ago, I took a trip to Paris and, like anyone should in Paris, I ate my heart out. Pastries, cream sauces, rich cheeses, and the most delicious wines—I fully indulged and expected to return home heavier and sluggish. But to my surprise, I came back feeling lighter, energized, and six pounds down. I felt amazing. That experience sparked something in me.

I started reading and researching and realized: it was the ingredients. Simple. Unprocessed. Real. That clarity made me question everything I was putting on my skin.

Living in Colorado, where the altitude, wind, and sun can be incredibly harsh, I’ve long followed a two-step after shower ritual for my whole body—hydrate first, then seal with oils. But every product I used was packed with synthetic fragrance, fillers, and preservatives. I wanted something more pure, effective, and beautifully simple—something I could feel good about using every day.

With the support of my husband Dean, and inspired by the generations of Colorado women in my life, I began formulating what would become Everest & Eve’s Ultimate Hydration Ritual. A two-step skincare system crafted specifically for high-altitude, dry-climate skin. It’s made with only what skin truly needs to thrive—botanicals, spring water, and nature’s most nourishing oils.

What began as a personal ritual has now become a trusted part of spa treatments across Colorado. But at its heart, Everest & Eve is still what it was from the beginning: a daily return to softness, strength, and skin that feels deeply cared for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At Everest & Eve, our work is all about honoring skin that endures more—more sun, more dryness, more altitude—and giving it what it truly needs to feel soft, healthy, and radiant again. We use natural, purposeful ingredients that have real skin benefits, especially for women who live in harsh, high-altitude environments like Colorado. Our approach is simple, grounded, and intentional—created by Coloradans, for Coloradans.

What sets us apart is that we’re not trying to be everything to everyone. We’re here for women who live active, resilient lives and want clean, effective skincare that actually works in extreme conditions. Our two-step Ultimate Hydration Ritual is easy to use and deeply restorative. And when spa clients tell us their skin feels noticeably softer, more supple, and visibly rejuvenated—even sun spots fading and a natural glow returning—that’s everything.

I realized this could be something bigger when my esthetician of 10 years—someone who knows my skin inside and out—stopped mid-facial to ask what I was doing differently. She said my skin felt smoother, looked healthier, and had a softness that wasn’t there before. That moment was the spark.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I spent months researching and testing natural ingredients to find the right combination that could truly transform dry, sun-exposed, crepey skin. One challenge we’ve faced is that we use essential oils not for fragrance, but for their powerful skin benefits—and sometimes people comment on the scent, especially since our sealing body oil is ginger-forward. But to me, the priority is always the skin: healthy, strong, glowing skin that doesn’t need a shelf full of products—just the right ones.

It’s never easy hearing criticism—whether it’s about the scent, the price, or the packaging—but what grounds me is our mission: to keep our formulas clean, natural, effective, and elevated. I’ve learned that staying true to your values and your “why” will guide you through anything.

What I want people to know about Everest & Eve is that it was born from real need and real love. It’s a brand rooted in generations of Colorado women, and it’s designed to meet women where they live—on the trails, in the wind, under the sun—with rituals that restore softness and strength to the skin and soul.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start in Boulder with coffee and brunch at Leaf or Snooze, followed by a stroll on Pearl Street and an afternoon spa visit at the St Julien. One evening, we’d treat ourselves to dinner and wine at Frasca Food & Wine—it’s elevated but not fussy.

A must-do would be a day in Rocky Mountain National Park—picnicking by Bear Lake and watching for elk in Estes Park. If we can swing it, we’d soak in hot springs—either in Glenwood or Idaho Springs—surrounded by fresh air and mountain stillness.

Back in Denver, we’d explore the RiNo Art District, visit a med spa that carries Everest & Eve, then sip cocktails at Death & Co or cozy up with wine at home. I’d want to end with something simple and soulful—maybe a patio dinner with string lights, fresh food from a farmers market, and that kind of long, heart-filling conversation you never want to end.

Colorado’s beauty is in its contrasts—rugged and soft, wild and peaceful. That’s the experience I’d want to give her: a little bit of everything, and a whole lot of heart.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without question, my shoutout is dedicated to my mother, Cathy.

She is not only my precious mom but also my first and most lasting example of beauty, ritual, and self-care done with intention. Her daily routines weren’t about vanity—they were acts of love, grounding, and grace. I grew up watching her take care of her skin with reverence, move through her day with softness and strength, and always make time for herself, even when life was demanding.

But more than that, she always prioritized our care. From preparing healthy meals to washing and brushing our hair each day, her love was in the details. She taught us what it looked like to be nurtured—not just through words, but through everyday actions that made us feel seen, safe, and loved.

We share not just values, but even our skin type—and that deep connection inspired so much of Everest & Eve. Her influence is woven into every formula and every moment of the ritual. I like to think of this brand not just as a tribute to women like her, but as a continuation of her legacy—one that honors resilience, nurtures beauty, and treats self-care as sacred.

She taught me that how we care for ourselves is how we show love—and I carry that wisdom with me in everything I do.
