We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrienne Sirianni – Cavallario and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrienne, how do you think about risk?
Risk sounds daunting to some, but to me, it doesn’t. To me, risk sounds like an opportunity. A chance to try something new or unknown and learn and experience new and different challenges and outcomes. Risks have played a huge role in my life and career. Whether the risk has been moving to a new city and starting over, throwing all caution to the wind, and putting everything I have into a new business, or hurling myself out of an airplane and navigating a safe landing. Risk has taught me to take that leap, try that new idea, believe in my instincts, and learn from every single negative and positive result.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being creative, I am drawn to beauty. Beautiful places, beautiful things, beautiful food, etc. I am a classically trained ballet dancer who moved to New York City from a small upstate NY town when I was 18 to join the competitive world of professional Ballet. My supportive and level-headed parents insisted on my attaining a college education as well as supporting my dream of being a professional dancer. The grueling practice of dance took a hard toll on my mind and body and I relied on my education in Marketing and design to fall back on. My career in design and manufacturing took me to beautiful places and countries that subsequently taught me about cultural diversity, art, and cooking among so much more. My love of creating beautiful food and my desire to learn about different cultures has led me to where I am today. My restaurant creates globally inspired cuisine that alternates our menu monthly. When I reflect on my past, where I have lived, traveled, my experiences, and challenges…I am excited to utilize these skills and lessons in my restaurant (ROAM) and share my love of delicious food and world cultures with our community.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This area we call home is an absolute paradise for people who love the outdoors. In the winter I would share the beautiful ski resorts in our backyard (Vail and Beaver Creek) and snowshoe in East Vail. In the summer I would share the same places for hiking and mountain biking. Eagle Colorado has incredible hiking and mountain biking trails and a wonderful hometown community with local shopping and eateries (ROAM!). A short 2-hour drive from Eagle to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is a favorite destination for me to share. Small-town hopping is a must with a stop in Leadville and Buena Vista. And a day at Rancho del Rio to raft the awesome Colorado River is hands down my favorite place to be in my spare time. I am quite biased toward food and cocktails so ROAM would be my go-to for my guests. I love to entertain in my space!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story, direction in life, and choices have largely been inspired by my beautiful parents who inspired me to take risks and enjoy every bump on the road of life. Their encouragement has been and will always be a huge source of my strength and desire to succeed. And without the support and partnership of my husband, some of the risks I have chosen may not have happened. His belief in me and my abilities far exceed my belief in myself ar times.
