Meet Michelle Preble | Yoga Instructor and Mindfulness Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Preble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired every day by my children. My two oldest children were there with me the day I started OM Shanti Yoga almost ten years ago and they have been my biggest cheerleaders as they have seen me grow and how many lives I’ve impacted since I started. Knowing they are watching me do what I love inspires me to keep going and confirms that I am doing exactly what I am meant to be doing in this moment. When I needed people to practice my cues on during yoga teacher training, they were there and always ready to help mom with her trainings. I started to noticed how they were, emotionally, after we did my practice flows with them and so we all just continued to do yoga together. After that, I knew I wanted to help spread yoga and mindfulness to everyone because it just feels so dang good and it’s such a wonderful bonding experience for families!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a yoga, mindfulness life coaching, and Wellness business. I offer yoga classes and mindfulness life coaching in the form of one on one, groups, and workshops. I also offer Paddleboard yoga classes, paddle board rentals, Paddleboard excursions, and host groups for paddleboard adventure days. I am trained in Adaptive Yoga for amputees, youth/children’s yoga and mindfulness, mindfulness life coaching, and stand up paddleboard trained in flat water and SUP Yoga. I create unique offerings tailored to your personal journey, offer 3 different courses, and am truama informed certified. What sets me apart is that I have the ability to create sessions/classes/experiences that are for everyone. Every body shape, size, and ability. I also work inside schools, districts, and universities to bring workshops to their staff and students! My biggest lesson I have learned was to keep going, keep pouring into my classes and offerings. Has it been easy? Absolutely not. There were days that felt like I would never get anywhere or even knew what I was doing. I learned a lot of business by just doing and creating, I never have given up. If there was an obstacle thrown at me, I learned to step back and re-adjust what I thought were flawless plans. I am most proud to see where I started and where I am today. I have met amazing people through my offerings and have spread light and love to so many. It truly is a beautiful feeling when one tiny dream becomes a slightly bigger present moment.
I am excited about a new offering I am working on that is aimed more for women. It is a Guide to becoming stronger and balanced through the inside out. I took what I went through after my 4th baby and how I healed my own self and found different strength into a book and workbook. It talks about functional workouts, mirror talk, yoga, self-care, and has many of my own personal experiences weaved into this book. I was inspired to create this from all the women who I have seen go through fire and come out fierce and more knowledgeable, and to the women who held the light for me when I was in the depths of severe post partum anxiety after my fourth.
What I want the world to know about me…I believe that we are here to help eachother, cheer eachother on, and be there for each other when life gets real weird. I believe that we should have open and honest conversations BUT we have to learn about our own selves and communicate with our own self first to really have those open and honest conversations. Love yourself because YOU are the most important person to yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In San Luis, I would take my bestie up the Stations of the Cross. It’s a small hike with beautiful views of this small town!
We would then grab a coffee at the San Luis Coffee, Co before taking a little drive (or walk) over to Sonia’s. She makes THE best salsa and her food is amazing. I once ate 8 of her tacos in one sitting!
After all that food, we would make our way towards Alamosa but stopping at Zappata Falls and the Great Sand Dunes for some more outdoor fun! You can rent sand boards and sleds fron Sundrift in the town of Blanca, they are fun for going down the sand Dunes.
My friend and I would grab some paddle boards and head to Alamosa where I would take them to Blanca Vista Park for an easy lake paddle with beautiful views of Mt. Blanca.
There’s several food spots in Alamosa I would take them to;
The Crazy Corner Cafe has authentic and delicious foods. The Campus Cafe is known for their giant cinnamon rolls, but get there early because they go so fast! The San Luis Brewing Company is also really great food and beverages!
Lastly, I would have cheesecake at the Rubi Slipper, their cheesecakes are phenomenal and they have a full menu full of such good food.
All my children and myself love going to the Sand Dunes Recreation/ Hooper Pool and spending the day in the warm, mineral pool! My best friend would also love this pool!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Rhonda Cordonnier and Hethyr Pletsch are two of my yoga mentors. I met Rhonda during our 300hr yoga teacher training and worked with her when I was training adaptive yoga for amputees. She worked with the para-olympians and is just really a beautiful woman inside and out, she is full of knowledge and pushes you to dig deeper into what your desires are.
Hethyr was my yoga teacher trainer for both my 200 and 300hr Yoga trainings and I would not be the teacher I am today if I hadn’t walked into Pranava that day and talked to her about the teacher program. The day I met her, I just knew she was who I was learning from.
I also want to shoutout to Samantha Hart, owner of Yoga Home in Colorado Springs. She has always been an amazing instructor and educator. She is incredibly smart and helped me better understand my own body through her classes. She is one of those humans that you could have a conversation for hours with and never tire of talking to her.
