We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikail Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mikail, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic career because, I’ve always wanted to be known for the work I created and wanted to reach my goals. I’ve been playing instruments ever since I was in elementary school and I started recording music in 2017. So I’ve been in the game for a while now. I’ve worked with Artists known as, Diego Money, Levalarie, Juugboii Xantana, King Kaleb, and many more. So shout out to the people and other creatives who’ve supported me through the years. I just finished my latest album Sndrszn 4.5 which drops August 8th 2024. Producers I’ve worked with include Sachy, Lincoln Minaj, Deedot1700, Kidkeva, and many more during my years of recording music. I also wanted to pursue an artistic career because if I get to reach my goals one day I don’t want to work any job as I currently work 2 jobs now. Also, I wanted to pursue an artistic career because I feel like if I do make it big one day it’s something that I have fun doing and that I can continue working for a long time!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want the world to know that Hugo Bozo aka Hugo Clout is here to stay for the long run! I am most proud or excited about dropping future albums! Like I really love the process of creating albums. It’s always been something I knew I could do and wanted to do ever since I picked up the recorder in elementary school. I got to where I am professionally today thanks to Side3 Studios in Denver that was my first time ever in a professional studio and the did amazing work on my music. I still consider the guys over there for future projects till this day. It was a little challenging but for the most part it was easy I just called them and booked a session, with the last few dollars I had to my name. I over came the challenges just by being prepared so they wouldn’t think I’m wasting time. I am serious about this shit! Some lessons I’ve learned along the way is that everyone is temporary and don’t expect for people to help you even though you’ve helped them in the past. I want the world to know that ImJustHugo is a f*cking vibe, a movement, a community!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t really have any friends or a best friend right now and I’m a pretty boring person. All I do is work and make music. But I like burgers and pizza. Beer is pretty good too!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone I believe that deserves a little credit in my story is the fans new and old. I know it sounds cliche but I think I really couldn’t do this without them! From them listening to my music before it drops, to coming to shows, and doing everything they can to make this experience truly memorable I appreciate each and every one of them! Also shout out my cousins! Shout out my twins! Shout out the gang haha!
