We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda Brandt Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miranda, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a city rich in culture and resilience but my parents dreamed of a brighter future for our family. They made the incredible sacrifice of leaving behind their homeland, their loved ones and the only life they knew to move to the United States in search of better opportunities for my siblings and I.
Their unwavering dedication and relentless hard work have profoundly shaped who I am today. Watching them overcome countless challenges with courage and determination instilled in me a deep sense of gratitude and a relentless drive to achieve my dreams. Their sacrifices remind me daily of the value of perseverance and I carry their legacy in how I approach life with resilience, humility and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my genuine kindness and my ability to see people in ways others often overlook. My empathy allows me to put myself in someone else’s shoes, understanding their feelings and perspectives. I strive to bring out the best in others, always wanting them to succeed and find happiness.
This compassionate approach shapes how I connect with the world and the people around me. It is also what drives me to become a better photographer year after year.

I am most proud of how I’ve overcome some of the most challenging moments in my life, including battling postpartum depression after the birth of my son and finding the strength to rebuild after losing my home in the devastating Marshall Fire late December 2021 . These experiences tested me in ways I never imagined but they also showed me the depth of my resilience and the power of hope. They’ve shaped who I am today and strengthened my commitment to creating a life that uplifts and inspires others to persevere through their own challenges.

My first professional journey began as a graphic designer for a large office supplies corporation. While I valued the experience, I realized over time that design wasn’t the passion I wanted to pursue. On the weekends, I dedicated myself to assisting wedding photographers, soaking up every bit of knowledge I could to one day become a photographer of my own. Once I felt confident enough to leave my job and start my own business, everything changed.
It was incredibly challenging to build a business from the ground up with no prior experience or guidance, but my determination and love for photography kept me moving forward.

These are a few invaluable lessons I have learned that have shaped my path…
Never giving up is key—perseverance has carried me through the toughest moments.
Practice is essential; honing my skills over time has been a cornerstone of my growth.
Working with all kinds of people has not only expanded my perspective but also helped me build confidence in my abilities.
Most importantly, I’ve come to understand that mistakes are not failures—they are opportunities to learn and grow.
These lessons continue to guide me as I pursue my passions and goals.

What I want the world to know about me is that I don’t give up when things get tough. I may take a moment to crouch in a corner and shed some tears but once I’ve let it out, I get back up, wipe them away and focus on figuring out my next steps. One of the quotes that keeps me grounded is from Zadie Smith: “You are never stronger… than when you land on the other side of despair.” It’s a reminder of the resilience and strength we all have within us, even in the hardest times.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Colorado for a week our itinerary would start in Denver.

RiNo Art District is an incredible area where you can stroll through back allies filled with murals, breweries and a variety of restaurants/bars. We would continue to downtown Denver to check out Union Station and surrounding areas. Walk down the 16 street mall. Maybe check out Meow Wolf or Denver Art Museum.

If money was not an issue we would do some shopping at the Cherry Creek Mall

Breakfast at Snooze and lunch at Lucile’s Creole Cafe or Denver Central Market (there’s something for everyone there) .
For an incredible dinner I would choose Uchi or Beckon. Barcelona Wine Bar for apps and drinks.

Definitely check out a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater.

In Boulder, take a hike and then stroll through Pearl Street. Do some shopping and have lunch at Avanti (great food and drinks).

Head to Rocky Mountain National State Park and drive through the majestic mountain landscapes then check out Estes Park with its tourist storefronts. Lunch at the beautiful Stanley Hotel.

If we head down to Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods is a must see attraction with its stunning rock formations.
The Broadmoor Hotel is iconic and absolutely beautiful.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am deeply grateful to my mother, whose support and encouragement inspire me to work hard every day.
She has taught me the importance of standing up for what I believe in and using my voice to advocate for others.
Her strength and guidance fuel my determination to face challenges head-on and strive for a meaningful, impactful life.
