We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Mendez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgan, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
This is such a huge question, because I have many goals–both personally and professionally–but to summarize it for you, I’d have to say that if I’ve learned anything in the last seven almost eight years, it’s that there are no end goals in business. Because as soon as you meet your goals, you’re already searching for the next thing. So for me? The end goal is to be happy, the end goal is to also understand that my business was given to me for a period of time, and I am to steward it while I have it and make the most of it. The end goal is to also serve people through what I do, because at the end of the day, people–my clients, my family, my friends–are what has helped make me who I am today.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Colorado wedding photographer that specifically focuses in the Luxury wedding scene, but if I’m being perfectly honest, there’s a lot of other people out there that do the same thing I do…and they’re all amazing! What sets me apart though is the way I love, care for, and treat my clients. Truly as if I were photographing my own wedding day. My journey to how I got to where I’m at today was not an easy one at all. When I first started, I had no clue what I was doing, and quite honestly had no intention of going into photography full time. But I lost a stable job that I had almost eight years ago and it was difficult to find another job that would support me financially since I was living on my own…so I made photography work because I HAD to make it work!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a very tough question! If my best friend was coming into town, I know she would actually want to hike; however, I like to not share a lot of places I hike publicly since a lot of time and effort goes into finding the really beautiful secluded ones! But AFTER the hike? I would definitely take her to Little Man Ice Cream in Denver, or Monk and Mongoose Coffee in Lone Tree. I would also take her to DBar or Safta for dinner, and quite honestly, other than that, we would simply enjoy some good, at home Mendez Mexican cuisine!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My incredible husband. He has always been so supportive of anything I do. Any new crazy idea I have, he backs me 100%. I would not be the person I am today without his constant love and support.
