Meet Nadina Menefee | Licensed Massage Therapist and Regiatered Nurse

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadina Menefee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nadina, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
That massage should be viewed as a luxury or an “extra”. I believe in massage as a necessary tool to assist with pain relief as well as stress relief. Too many times in our society people work hard and forget to take time for self care or don’t view it as important. I believe that life is a balance and that self care is more important now than ever.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been an RN for over 20 years so have always been passionate about people and helping them heal. I graduated from CIMT in February 2023 and opened my massage therapy business called White Sage LLC in my small home town in March 2023. Then in May 2023 was diagnosed with breast cancer. I knew that I had already helped so many people with their pain and stress so I knew I HAD to keep my business open through all this to keep making a difference in my community. I had a mastectomy and after 4 weeks was back to work full time. I’m still going through chemo currently and still give it my all and stay focused on my clients full time. This has helped them and me! And I’m so grateful I get to live my dream every day!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well my small town is famous for the Royal Gorge Bridge and river rafting along the Arkansas river so that would be top of the list! Then there’s also many 14ers in this state to hike so I would take her to hike at least one! We would have a day at one of the local natural hot springs like Desert Reef, or Mount Princeton Hot Springs. And don’t forget the ski towns! During winter I would take her skiing or during the summer visit Breckinridge to shop and eat and ride the gondola! We would have to eat at some local small business restaurants in my home town of Canon City like Pizza Madness and DiRitos Italian restaurant. I would also take her to eat at Snooze an AM eatery in Colorado Springs. Our state has so many fun and great things to do!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Above all my husband for believing in me and putting up with me and all the time put into this education. And to one teacher at Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy. Her name is Amanda Bourda and she inspired me because she has a wealth of knowledge about the human body and how it works, and also has an amazing kind heart and her desire to help others succeed is apparent in her interactions with her students. She listens to students as individual people and tries to help them whenever she can while also making them do the work necessary to succeed. She always made me feel important and cared for!
