We had the good fortune of connecting with Mara Czegel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mara, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by my team! I am fortunate to work with a team of 13 therapists in our Denver office who come from all types of backgrounds and have various specialties. We also have two more offices in Phoenix and Boston, making a team of 22 clinicians. Being surrounded by a group of people who have found the areas they are passionate about and allow themselves to explore and cultivate that is amazing and a constant reminder to keep growing.
Ember Psychotherapy Collective began with the intention of creating a space that cared for both clients and therapists alike. We recognize how challenging it can be to find the right fit in a therapist and how disheartening that journey can be, especially for someone who is new to the experience or unsure how to get started. We aimed to create a space where therapists have the freedom and room to cultivate their own niches and skill without being overwhelmed with the challenges in large agencies. This way, there is more room for therapists to cultivate their skill and share their genuineness. Which is something that all clients deserve to experience in their path to healing- having someone on their team who is just as passionate about their growth as they are!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ember Psychotherapy Collective is a woman-owned group private practice that offers therapy to adults, teens, families, and children. We offer personalized, individual, couples, and family therapy in person (Denver LoHi) and online (Boston, Denver, and Phoenix). Our modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Multicultural therapy, trauma-focused therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). For couples therapy, we work from a psychodynamic and emotion-focused (EFT) perspective. Our therapists also work with expats and cross-cultural psychotherapy.
We treat anxiety, depression, trauma, burn-out, personality disorders, relationship issues, domestic abuse/ violence, women’s issues, men’s issues, autism, shame, self-esteem, family dynamics, premarital/ marital issues, stress, insomnia, codependency, grief, stress, burnout and more. We offer therapy in English, Spanish, and Hungarian.
I started Ember after COVID when I realized the need for more mental health professionals. It certainly wasn’t easy starting my own business. I’ve learned that hurdles happen but they’re not a sign that things are going wrong. Ups and downs are natural and can be taken as they come. They don’t always require a deeper and more complex meaning. Taking it in stride, collaborating to figure out how to deal with it and moving through it is okay too!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Steam Espresso, Blue Sparrow Coffee, Maci’s, Washington Park, Rosebud Cafe, Penelope Coffee Bar and Stowaway!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this submission to the 12 phenomenal clinicians on our Denver Team.
