We had the good fortune of connecting with Nai’a Aplaca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nai’a, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Taking things one thing at a time definitely helps with my success. Taking on too much can lead to stress and feeling unmotivated to do anything. What I like to do is focus on the most important task first, pick a day where I have very little to do and dedicate my attention to it. Once that task is complete then if I feel up for it, I start the next task. I also find that taking breaks is just as important. Breaks help you relax and recharge your mind, so definitely take breaks.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It has been an interesting journey. I started off with my instagram page to help with my modeling and acting career. From there, it turned into a makeup page where I would just share my looks and I thought, why don’t I share my outfits instead? I always loved dressing up so I started to post my outfits. I recently got accepted into the LTK creators program, which for me is pretty awesome. I post all my outfits there. If someone likes my outfit, they can now shop on my storefront to recreate or create their own outfits. Although, I get excited at the fact that I might have a outfit twinsie out there. Eventually, I started posting about my travels, but it has mainly been fashion outfits. The biggest thing I learned is to be my full blown weird self and to surround myself with people that love me for who I am.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I visited Denver for three days and all three of those days were spent in Snow Mountain. I loved it up there. It was a peaceful, serene getaway. They have so much to do there. There’s a skating rink, pool, archery, mountain tubing, horseback riding, and so much more! I wish I had more time to explore. At some point, I will definitely be returning. Most likely after I finish my Bachelor’s in Anthropology.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel they deserve a lot of credit. They were there for me when I was at my lowest point in life. We won’t go into details, but I am so thankful for them. They changed my life. I don’t know where or who I would be today if not for them. I hope they know how much I love and appreciate them.
