We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, how do you define success?
I would define success as being able to get knocked down 9 times, but get up 10. And turn Ls into lessons. If anyone uses this adage in life. Nothing can stop them from success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 1986, I moved to Denver, Colorado. And made my home in Southeast Colorado Springs in 2000. I am a college graduate with 2 degrees. One in Paralegal Studies and another in General Studies from Pikes Peak Community College.
In 2004, I founded Another Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This organization is dedicated to helping those battling with mental illness and suicidal behaviors. My passion for starting this nonprofit began from my early years. Growing up in the small town of Gary, Indiana. Mental illness was not talked about. There were mental health organizations, therapists, and counselors in town. But the people in my circle, did not talk about it. Let alone admit they were dealing with a mental illness. There were no commercials. No celebrities speaking out. No public awareness campaigns. Nothing. If you were suffering from a mental illness. You were suffering in silence. Or if you did seek help, you were labeled “crazy.” I wanted to change this narrative. The mission of the foundation is to help those battling with mental illness and suicidal behaviors. By offering programs and projects that advocate, educate, support, and bring awareness of mental health/wellness. Starting this foundation was not easy. Especially since I was alone and had no prior knowledge of the nonprofit sector. But I did not allow this to stop me. Through the years, I have been able to gain supporters and funders. Also, with the help of my board members, volunteers, interns, and employees. Another Life Foundation is able to help those in the community “to live with, not suffer from mental illness.”
In 2016, I founded Greenbacks and Associates Group. It is a boutique paralegal service. We assist clients with various legal, business, and personal resources. We stand out from the rest because we work directly with our clients. We do not work with lawyers or attorneys. We are paralegals that are trained to do everything a lawyer and attorney does. Except for giving legal advice and providing representation in court. Our motto is “greenbacks can save you greenbacks.”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my board members, interns, volunteers, supporters and employees of both my businesses! These individuals are valuable assets and their contributions has helped Another Life Foundation and Greenbacks and Associates Group to stay on the map.
