Meet Natalie Adele | Feminine Awakening Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Adele and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I love this question, because so much of my journey the past five years has been ‘unlearning’ so many systems about how we relate to ‘work.’ I used to ‘work’ in the medical field as a Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Professor. I got paid by the hour, worked 40 (let’s face it..much more!) hours per week…and was told what time I would begin and end my work day (don’t forget to punch in no later than 3 minutes past the hour, Natalie, or you’ll be docked as ‘late.’). So much of how I related to work before was transactional. Time in, money out.
Now, as an entrepreneur…I have designed a LIFE that I love. A lifestyle that, inherently, and by choice…is already balanced. I love what I do so much…that I don’t discriminate between ‘now I’m working” and ‘now I’m living.” Living a life on-purpose..one that I’ve chosen….my service is my ‘work.’ Which means, sometimes I put in some creative hours on the weekend…if the muse comes knocking. Sometimes my ‘work’ (service) is offering an open heart and joyful smile to the coffee barista…or being available for a girlfriend when she is in crisis…or mentoring my clients.
The closer I get to my Dharma…my sacred service…the more ‘blurry’ the lines become between ‘work’ and everything else. In fact, I like to think of it more as a “Play + Pray” balance. Meaning, how often am I in sacred work and devotion to my mission (Pray) and how often am I giggling with my girlfriends by the river, being silly with my puppy, or getting lost in nature (Play).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My offering, my ‘art’, is the choosing the Beauty Way in every moment. Meaning…walking and living a life that is rich in ritual, poetry, depth, authenticity…and (what I refer to as) SOUL YUM. As I shared in the earlier question regarding ‘work/life balance’- I chose to leave a very traditional lifestyle + career…and opted for the brave + courageous path of entrepreneurship. I left my suburban world in the medical field..and moved to the jungles of Costa Rica to ‘unplug’ from the metronome of the Modern World and learn who I was in my own cadence. My lifestyle is my art. I spend lots of time offline, and enjoy being in ritual and ceremony in the seemingly mundane moments. I teach Kundalini Yoga in the jungle, and now work privately with Women as a Sensuality + Intimacy Coach. NOTHING about my lifestyle is what is was five years ago. I walk slower, eat sower, make love slower, talk slower…and I allow myself to receive both the beauty + the heartbreak that is folded into each and every passing moment.
My lifestyle used to be deeply rooted in ‘hustle culture’ and proving. 80 hour work-weeks, fueled by 2 coffees daily…living in my mind….working from my mind…and totally disconnected from Self, meaning, and purpose.
Slowly, with lots of courage, surrender, and trust- I’ve unlearned old paradigms, and have powerfully CHOSEN my lifestyle and the work I offer in this world. I now am rooted in a place of wholeness and belonging. The past five years of personal transformation is what has become my art, my devotion, my story…and through both telling my story, emanating joy, and mentoring clients…I inspire others to connect to their deepest Truth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am very new to Colorado myself! I moved to Boulder three months ago…..but I am IN LOVE!! The fact that I’ve chosen to leave the palm-tree paradise of Costa Rica to be here speaks volumes.
But, if I had a bestie visiting me here…I’d start the day at Wonder with a delicious Reishi Cacao elixir. We’d then go for a refreshing hike amongst the red rocks, where we could rest atop the mountain and take in the glorious views of sweet Boulder tucked away amongst the Flat Irons. We’d go for a brisk afternoon dip in the river at Buckingham Park, and indulge in a grounding lunch at Wild Pastures (helllllooooo tallow-fried french fries!) . In the afternoon, I’d gather at home with our incredible community (community is my absolute favorite part about living here…the people are the real deal!) where afternoon tea and some yummy Honey Mammas would likely roll into a cozy evening of games and fireside chats 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I would not be in this Sacred Ceremony of Life if it wasn’t for my parents. So thank you Tricia and Colin for letting me choose you to incarnate in this Now moment. Thank you for teaching me, from such as young age- about the power of courage and adventure and taking the path less traveled.
Thank you to my twin sister, Holly, for being a life-long ride. or die..and a Soul partner. You have been such a clear mirror for me and continue to teach me what it means to be devoted in love and mission.
Thank you to all the Women in my life who celebrate, play, create, inspire, and dance with me.
Thank you to all the Men in my life who provide, protect, serve, and honor me.
To the practice and golden chain of the Kundalini Yoga lineage. This sacred practice, which I devote to daily, reminds me what it feels like to be alive….has lifted me out of the depths of depression…and grounds me on days where I feel scattered.
Thank you to the jungles of Costa Rica, and the purity of nature, for reminding me to slow down..for teaching me deep peace and vitality, and for helping me embody a soulful, luscious, juicy life.
