Meet Nick Coutu | Co-Founder of Ignite Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Coutu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, how do you think about risk?
Risk-taking has always been a fundamental part of my life and career. Growing up, my dad was my biggest role model. He’s an entrepreneur who started a successful business right out of my parents’ living room. Watching him taught me that risks, when paired with hard work and determination, can lead to incredible rewards.

When I was younger, I embraced risk with an adventurous spirit. I moved across the country from Connecticut to Colorado without a job because it had always been my dream to live here. I also spent two years living in a van, traveling the country to explore and learn more about myself. On top of that, I’ve always sought out physical challenges—snowboarding, mountain biking, and racing motorcycles have taught me resilience and pushed my boundaries.

Starting Ignite Studio with my business partner, Aaron Tellier, was a very calculated risk. I’ve always dreamed of owning a business and being my own boss, but now, as a husband and father to a two-year-old, financial stability is a priority. To mitigate the risk, I launched Ignite Studio while working full-time as a marketing manager. This allowed me to grow the business gradually until it became my full-time career.

For me, risk-taking is about balancing ambition and responsibility. It’s about pursuing dreams with a plan while recognizing the incredible growth that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone. Every risk I’ve taken has shaped who I am today and brought me closer to the life I’ve always envisioned.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ignite Studio is a Longmont, Colorado-based marketing agency specializing in video production, content marketing, and digital strategies to help businesses grow.

What sets us apart is our commitment to bridging the gap between audiences and brands by crafting compelling communication strategies that deliver tangible business results.

Our journey began as a conversation over beers between my business partner, Aaron Tellier, and me. Fueled by a shared dream of owning a full service marketing agency, we transformed that idea into Ignite Studio. Starting the agency while I was working full-time as a marketing manager allowed us to grow it gradually until it became my full-time career.

The path to where we are today wasn’t easy. Balancing a full-time job, family responsibilities, and building a new business required time management and dedication. We overcame challenges by maintaining a clear vision, supporting each other, and staying adaptable in the ever-evolving marketing landscape.

At Ignite Studio, we pride ourselves on bringing stories to life with stunning video and imagery, effectively connecting brands with their audiences. Our work reflects our passion for creativity and our commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to two incredibly important people in my life. First, to my dad, who has been an amazing role model. He showed me what’s possible when you put your mind to something and work hard. His entrepreneurial journey from starting a business in our living room to building something truly successful has always inspired me to dream big and take risks.

Second, I want to give a huge shoutout to my business partner, Aaron Tellier. Ignite Studio started as a conversation over beers, and his faith in us and dedication to turning that idea into a thriving business and career have been invaluable. It’s been a journey of collaboration, trust, and hard work, and I couldn’t imagine doing this without him.
