We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Barron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Coming from a Mexican background, the designs and colors used in my floral arrangements stem from the vibrancy and creativity of my culture. I wanted La Luna Florals to embody the hard work of my ancestors before me and the tenacity of my people as a whole.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Creating floral designs stems further than just pretty combinations. I created La Luna Florals to make wedding planning easier for couples and to create their dreams. I am proud of being completely booked for my first year! Coming from a family of women business owners, connections and business practices come naturally. I’ve learned that there are constantly things I need to work on and learn to better my business as a whole. My brand is here to show other young Latinx people that anything is possible and we don’t have to settle for anything less than the best dream we can think up. La Luna Florals is not only a floral design shop, we’re a business that will always help uplift and educate others in our community to achieve their goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Denver, I love to go to Cilantro for their excellent brunch! Their chilaquiles are out of this world and their Palomas are even better. Denver is filled with pretty great spots that showcase the people who live there. I always love the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Denver Art Museum. I love grabbing a coffee at Blue Sparrow and finishing off the day with a brew from Raices or Cerveceria Denver. The RiNo area is always bustling with life and art, so I would always recommend anyone to spend a day or two around there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my grandparents. If I didn’t have the encouragement and constant reminder of “si se puede,” I would not have fully believed that everything I wanted to achieve was possible.
