Meet Nishant Patel

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nishant Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nishant, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Having worked with kids and adults with developmental disabilites for over 14 years, both indoors(schools) and outdoors(Adventure therapy), I learned what was lacking in the community and after many moments of diving deep within myself, I was able to come up with ways my skills and experience can help the IDD community, including kids, teens, adults, and also parents. What came out of it was me joining WRTS. The kids gym is for ALL kids, all ages, all abilities. Only found at We Rock the Spectrum, it features 12 pieces of specialized equipment that meet the motor and sensory needs of mostly all kids—encouraging strength, balance, and inclusive play. Our gym features a zip line, trampoline, massive swing structures, crash pit, climbing structures, monkey bars, etc. The gym also has a multipurpose room/classroom completely free for parents to use; mom groups/dad groups or parent-led skill-based training other parents could find useful. The gym also has 3 different rental offices for ABA, Speech, and Occupational Therapy use. We also have a massive party room for Birthday parties and events. WRTS, is not only a gym for ALL kids, but a community hub; A place where you never have to say, “I am sorry”. Once the CES waivers are accepted, parents will be able to use their state funding towards most of our services.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We Rock the Spectrum Denver Northwest is more than just a gym. it’s a purpose-built, sensory-safe space for all kids, especially those with developmental disabilities. Our facility includes 12 pieces of specialized equipment designed to support sensory regulation, motor skill development, and most importantly, inclusive play. We offer open play, birthday parties, respite care, structured camps, and preschool prep; all designed with neurodiversity in mind.
What sets us apart is our commitment to inclusion and authenticity. Everything in our gym is intentional, from the equipment to the programs to the way we train our team.
Business wise, it has been a true test of everything I have learned about myself so far; it definitely was not easy. Along with a business owner, I learned to be a builder, marketer, and above all, I learned how to trust the process. I believe integrity is an essential virtue in business; your customers are able to sense your passion, and commitment towards them and your mission. At the end of the day, what really matters is the people and how you show up to serve them. Your customers will always value how you show up for them, even when you are new business and offer their own services to help you as a business as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Eben G park in Boulder. Lions park in Golden. Cervantes Masterpiece ballroom, Mission Ballroom, or Red Rocks for the music. Alpine lake hikes, Skiing, or Climbing depending the season.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout the years, in countless conversations with colleagues and friends, I’ve found myself saying the same thing—kids have been my greatest teachers. Especially the incredible kids with developmental disabilities I’ve had the honor to work with. They’ve taught me more about the world, about empathy, resilience, and joy, than any book or classroom ever could. I truly believe that children are the purest reflection of who we are and the world we’ve built. And I’ll never stop learning from them.
