Meet Olivia Rodriguez | Owner of Pretty Parties

We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My true love for parties and party planning is what inspired me to start my own business. My thought process for starting my own business was to provide party rentals that not only I would love but also weren’t common in Denver. I truly believe in the importance of every single detail in an event, and I understand how significant it can be to find the perfect add-ons for your party. I wanted to provide rentals that I adore and already rent for my own parties. Our LED Inflatable Nightclub, The Pretty Club, is such a fun and unique addition to parties. Also, our concession carts, The Pretty Carts, are adorable for all kinds of events from carnival or movie parties to retro parties. I love being able to help people make their events that much more special!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is a reflection of my love for parties. I truly believe in the significance of coming together to celebrate people; life is meant to be celebrated! I know that fun additions to a party can make them that much more of a memorable experience. My immense love for people and parties is what makes my business unique since I care so much to deliver exceptional service. Also, I am so passionate about our specific rentals and their abilities to wonderfully complement any event. Choosing to invest in myself and my business was not easy at all; especially as a mom. It can be hard to trust yourself, but this is something that is super important! I would say the hardest part was starting it to begin with, once I was able to do that I was able to keep going. It can be very daunting to start a business, but I believe I was called to do so for a reason. I try to practice gratitude, giving thanks, frequently and journaling; these are ways I am able to work through self doubt and express myself. Within my business I have definitely learned a lot, but I also have a lot more to learn- I am very excited to see what the future has in store for Pretty Parties! I want the world to know Pretty Parties is a Latina owned small business, also that I am a mom, so people can see that any background can start their own business!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love trying all of the new restaurants downtown Denver. There are some really cool and fun options like Wonderyard for brunch, STK for dinner or Call Me Pearl for drinks. If I was trying to show my best friend Denver I would definitely take them to some of the amazing restaurants and bars that the city has to offer! I’d also make sure we go to Boulder for some stunning views, or Idaho Springs for adventure followed by the best Mountain Pizza at Beaujo’s! Also, you can’t see Denver without visiting Chubby’s! Hahaha.

I would love to recognize and thank my mom for her endless love and support; I truly couldn’t do any of it without her! Also, my courageous, loving and curious toddler- he is my biggest inspiration of all!
