We had the good fortune of connecting with P G and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi P, why did you pursue a creative career?
I wanted to do something outside of the norm.. some thing that I knew would be practically impossible! The passion I have, along with this artistic drive, just wouldn’t allow me to do anything else!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am an artist/ battle rapper based out of Denver, from Mississippi by way of Maryland. I make rap music, music for the ladies and Conscious music. Many artists cannot maneuver between the 2 as they are 2 very different lanes. I use Battle rapping as a tool to sharpen my flow, verbiage, cadence and to stay in tuned. As opposed to MUSIC being my main focus AT ALL times, you have good days and bad days but in this music industry you have to be able to PUSH, stay focused and always stay ready! I’ve learned it’s not what you do, IT’S WHO YOU KNOW. You need to network and put yourself out there. Even if it makes you uncomfortable. Get used to being uncomfortable. And always remember NOBODY WILL SUPPORT YOU LIKE YOU DO. Ultimately, making music is what I love to do. Genuinely, I want the world to hear me! POETIK GENIUS, PG.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friend comes into town…

Monday:

I pick my friend up from DIA airport and we go to the Dispensary. After that we’d hit a dive in bar downtown along
16th street mall or market. Because its Monday, I do not expect a lot to be going on, so we’d more than likely get in the studio and get creative.

Tuesday:

Tuesday morning I would start the day out with some Little Annitas or Santiago’s breakfast burritos. After that we would head up to Blackhawk (casino) and gamble for hours! Around 8-9pm that night head to Zepplin Station for Taco Tuesday, when that is over around 12am, we then proceed to Native for the after party.

Wednesday:

Wake up and find a 420-brunch spot and have some mimosa’s. After that head up to Este’s Park and visit the Stanley hotel for a tour. After the long drive back to Denver we will head to Nola’s restaurant for some exquisite New Orlean’s style food. After that head back to the crib and relax for the night.

Thursday:

Wake up and go get some protein shakes from Jamba juice on or way to go downtown and ride scooters. Stop in a restaurant downtown for Happy Hour for a few drinks and some appetizers. After we are done we leave and head to Roo Bar for Thirsty Thursday. When the bar closes we find a hookah spot to chill for a few hours, and then call it a night.

Friday:

because I like to spend my time in the studio on the weekends I will probably spend the next half a day (10am- 5pm) recording/writing music. All of my friends know how important creating is for me So it wouldn’t be a problem! Afterwards we will probably do something like Columbine steak House for food and maybe just hit Blake or market Street downtown to bar hop into the night !

SATURDAY:

I may be possibly recording as I stated I like to record a lot on the weekend that’s normally when my engineer is free! my Saturday morning would consist of coffee a blunt and music up until around 2pm. More than likely I would like to day drink into the night maybe hit mushroom mellow on 16th St. mall waiting for the night to fall as to where I would probably go to beer hall or gin mill to do some clubbing!

Sunday:

We were more than likely just rest! Breakfast would more than likely be Chubbies on 38th. Leading up until my friend has to leave I’m sure the trip will have him/her tired Lol!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to my family; they’ve been with me through the toughest times of my career! Even at times it felt like they may have wanted to give up on me they still didn’t! My mom, My sister, My brother, my cousins all over! They all still lend a ear to this day!
