We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Briscoe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our industry revolves around nature and plants. The whole reason we have houseplants in our home is to connect, tend and grow with them and as we say at ReRoot, connect with your plants, connect with yourself. We truly believe that when we tend to our plants and bring nature into our home, we are creating deeper connections with ourselves, after all, animals and humans were born from nature. When people come into our shop or connect with us online, they know that they can count on us to provide them with not only inspiration and “magically chill plants” but also that we are their friend, here to guide them through the connection with nature and plants. Plants feel like home and we are here to be a catalyst on that journey of discovery.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a creative above all else. I’ve nurtured my creative soul my whole life and allowed it to grow into what it is today which is my business, ReRoot.
Yes, there was a lot of trial and error along the way but I kept trying because it was the only way to survive. I’ve had nothing to loose and i think that was the golden ticket for me; I kept trying because there was no other option and I wasn’t going to settle, I knew that I was destined for something special and I never doubted that. I also never let anyone tell me any different, maybe that meant I lost a job or lost a friend but something in me just said, “keep going”
Community is at the heart of ReRoot but creativity is the soul. When I started this business I didn’t know exactly what it would grow into or even if it would be successful, but especially after last year, I know that we are not just a retail shop, we are a growing botanical creative collective that thrives off magically chill vibes and deep connection wiht our community. I often hear people say that they come into our shop “just for the vibes” of to “take a break” or “need some therapy” and i truly believe that our team nurtures not only the plants but the people that come in.
Allow yourself to grow into something you didn’t expect. You have to be open to receiving what the universe wants to give you and hold onto your passions and values. I want to look back on my life and know that I didn’t settle for less than my wildest dreams.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First place would be Stowaway for breakfast then a long afternoon of hiking, smoking joints and eating lunch ontop of a mountain. ending the day with either the indian or strawberry hotsprings. Definitely live music somewhere in there, hopefully redrocks and always a botanical garden visit.
Visiting favorite small businesses like my shop ReRoot (of course), Terrorium Shop, Be a Good Person, It’s a bodega (best munchie spot), La Lovely vintage, Awakening Boutique, Conifer, Sacred Thistle and so many more.
Voodoo donuts, Amethyst coffee, Safta, Hudson Hill, Levan Deli, Death and Co, Dio Mio, Mister Oso and Denver Central market for food and drinks.
Fave neighborhoods: RiNo, south broadway and parts of highlands lol
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
OUR COMMUNITY! There is no “us” without our community and especially with last year, our community continues to show up and support us in everything we do. It’s our number one goal to do better and continue to innovate and grow but to also listen to the needs and wants of what our community is asking for. We take great pride in welcoming anyone and everyone and will continue to speak up and speak loud when we need to. THANK YOU PLANT COMMUNITY AND BEYOND!
