We had the good fortune of connecting with PartyKing Jeff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi PartyKing, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The saying is “nothing ventured nothing gained” and I’m a firm believer in that statement. In other words I believe that risks are a part of the grind to become great . Trying new things out and being the first person to do it has taught me how to face adversity and to understand that not everyone will see your idea through, because they’re not supposed to and that’s what makes you different . Ultimately being different has gotten me to places that otherwise I wouldn’t have been .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up in a fierce city like Stockton is not easy making a name for yourself. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to put myself out there and finally start getting recognized for my work. I’ve learned many lessons along the way of the journey to where I am now. I would have to say one piece of advice is if you’re trying to get something done, you need to do it yourself. You can’t keep depending on others to get you where you need to be. And when the trying gets hard, you need to keep pushing through. Many pieces of my work have taken great amounts of time to complete, but I guess that perfectionist mentality really started paying off. I want my brand to reflect that even if you come from nothing, there is always an opportunity to make a name for yourself. Never give up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Stockton had a slew of great places to eat, drink, and have a great time. The heart of Stockton has an area called Lincoln Center that has many fine dining restaurants that are excellent. We have some great tap houses and bar on our “Miracle Mile” that have such great vibes. There are even a couple club scenes for dancing that everyone loves. Two of the best clubs are “The Ave” and “Paradise”. Great music and great drinks. For some fun activities I would recommend checking the Port’s baseball games. On Thursdays they have 1$ beer nights, and the games are always a blast. We also have an awesome hockey team, and those games always get the adrenaline going. We are also fortunate to have the delta river that runs directly through Stockton. It’s great for waterskiing, house-boating, and fishing. It’s always fun to get out on the water and day drink with with friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I would like to give a shout out to my mom for being my biggest supporter. Through trials and tribulations she taught me to never give up and to not be afraid to be different . This confidence that was ingrained into me perpetuated the yearning to explore and try as many new things as possible . In the end, gaining skills in many different fields I became what some would call multi-talented . I will forever be grateful for that because I believe confidence is half the battle .
