Meet Patricia Gillmore | Re-Sale E-Commerce Boutique

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Gillmore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk, that’s a word most small business owners live by or more of a motto that has been drilled in our head’s the day we created our ideas. Risk-taking to me is “faith” taking, believing in your talents and self. This is where we as individuals have to reach deep within and ask ourselves what are we put here to do? Are we here to change something or a system? Are we here to make others feel good? Are you here to showcase your unique talent? These are the hard questions we ask ourselves. Mine was “I am here to give back, and through that, I am here to leave a longevity business so it may continue to give back long after I am gone”
I want it to where when someone google’s “GGirls Closet LLC”, they not only see the consignment services offered here, however, they also will see the impact that GGirls has with the local Colorado non-profits.
I have been slowly unfolding an “E-commerce Certification Get Educated Program” for young youth/young adults. Not only would local clients be able to come to our storefront to drop off inventory, to be sold on their behalf, but they will be able to see a classroom inside our boutique, stocked with computers. Providing inexpensive entrepreneur courses for young adults and young working youth. They will be taught the meaning of running and opening an eCommerce store. The huge risk here is that I am going to have to gather enough capital and fundraising so that I can offer these services FREE to the youth, so that no matter the finical structure of their home, they all get an educational course here at GGirls Closet, with outs paying for it. Risk is something I believe that only enhances your business profile and dreams. This is a new vision, also a new chapter in my life, being the biggest risk yet, for finically it won’t be possible without the local community, but I know when it comes to giving the next generation tools to succeed and the ability to have free or reduce education is priceless.

What should our readers know about your business?
GGirls Closet LLC was established back in 2013 as a small local resale shop in Denver, Colorado right off Broadway Street. GGirls Closet is owned by a Latina Honduran. We had our storefront for 3 years than GGIrls Closet sold. We then took all the back inventory and went to the e-commerce route on e-bay. I took some time down to rebuild my education, go to school, work, and learn about new online selling stores. I now have launched more than one e-commerce platform. When Covid hit that is where I started in-home consignment services. What set’s us apart from other resale shops is we go to clients’ homes, they can book us directly off our scheduling app on all our platforms, and we offer cash on the spot or it’s a 50/50 split on consigned clothes, and we take all-season clothing, so no more hauling items around. I also since then have merged in supporting local youth non-profits, and the beautiful thing is that I will be able to one day re-launch a store, but this time still will be e-commerce, so no local public shopping. My ultimate dream for GGIrls Closet is to not only be the online store that sells local clothing but educate the next generation and help formulate new small business owners at no cost to them. This is what has and what will set me apart from a traditional boutique.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My Girlfriends and I always do “Girls Trips” so if they were coming here to the Mile High City. We first would have to grab some amazing food tasting from Volcano Tea House Aurora – great decor and atmosphere there, best boba in town.
Then we would swing up Broadway to Denver Distillery – for some good whiskey and stand-up poetry or comedy depending on what local events they are putting on at the time. Hit the pause button, get refreshed, then would hit “Top Golf” DTC get some swinging practice in before the night falls
Once nighttime hits and the crew get hungry, we will hit Pho79 right off Exposition and Federal Blvd the best Pho in town.
The View House DTC is where we would dance the night away. In the morning hit Denver Biscuit Company for Brunch, for we all would need a mimosa or bloody mary and a good hearty biscuit sandwich.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my daughter Zoe, who gave me the vision and showed me what unconditional love looks like. To my mother Bonnie who took on those late-night early mornings with me, when it was undetermined where I was going in life. Last Debra Locke of Youth Empowerment Agency who helps me unfold the vision of giving back to the next generation.
