We had the good fortune of connecting with Pauline Castro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pauline, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursue being a hair and makeup artist because I love seeing people feel and look their best on any occasion. I am passionate about creating art and making people smile.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My Business is PLC Mobile Beauty, where we provide mobile beauty services at your Place, Location Desired and Convince. We are collective of hair and makeup artist that travels all over Colorado, Wyoming and San Diego. I am very proud of my team, all the clients we serviced and fellow wedding vendors that we have worked with, being in the wedding industry has its own challenges but with team work and passion we we can conquer even the most difficult client.
Starting the business had it own challenge, I was working an office job during the week and providing mobile beauty services on the weekends, I started with a mobile haircuts and colors, lash extensions and bridal parties, I always knew I wanted to be my own boss and gave it a try what’s the worse thing that could happen right? As I quit my office job in 2019. I decided to focus on my building the company and do as many jobs as I can while creating a team.
2020 hits COVID Happened and it couldn’t be the worse timing as everyone in the wedding industry forecasted to be the best year for weddings yet. Most weddings were canceled and I did not know what to do. I kept my cool on and hoped for the best by staying positive and gratitude… it took more than but it worked. I focused my energy on gaining more clients, building a team that I can rely on and focused on my craft by creating new looks. Now we have a flagship salon in Rino offering all of our services as well as mobile beauty services.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Meow Wolf to see cool things, hang out and have tea at Bebe’s Tea room, hang out around Rino Arts district and check out murals,Go to the Iron Mountain hot-springs in Glenwood Spring or stay at Devil’s Thumb Ranch and have a spa day and hike.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
