We had the good fortune of connecting with Prudence Devilliere and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Prudence, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I didn’t get into aesthetics for the deepest of reasons. “Vanity. Full speed ahead!” I did fall in love with plasma pen treatment, and wanted to be able to do it on myself, so I went to aesthetician school at Emily Griffith. Afterwards, I learned that one of my favorite things in the world is spending time with my clients and providing something that I know now is truly beneficial and enriching. Whenever my husband asks how my client was I always respond, “Great! One of my favorites!”, and I truly mean it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Opening a successful business is not easy. I once read that an Aries motto is, “ready, fire, aim “. This does tend to be my approach to things, and it seems to work OK for me. I was very blessed to have realistic expectations set for me by other business owners that helped a lot in slow/high cancellation periods. I’ve also had amazing support from my family in times of doubt. I have learned to not quit. If there’s a secret, that’s it. I do view myself as pretty personable, and while my offerings are standard, perhaps that sets me apart. I specialize in Plasma energy which has exciting applications that help with a wide range of issues from acne to skin-tightening. I’ve loved this treatment ever since I learned about it a few years ago and it has only gotten better; I’m excited to expand on this in my practice.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Where do I begin? Denver is such a colorful place to live with endless things to do. We’ve even surpassed New York as far as living expenses so great news, if you can make it in Denver, you can make it anywhere! We definitely pay for the beauty and liveliness of our location. The talent that lies in Denver is worth what one might pay to visit.
I have been sober for about 9 years and the bestie just hopped onto that wagon with me, which is so exciting. BUT, whenever an audience member asks where to grab a drink after a show, Side Pony and The Cruise Room are places they can’t go wrong. Would definitely want to show my guests Red Rocks, maybe even see a concert there. Independent eateries including (again) Side Pony, and Odie B’s. Literally any show emceed by Bender Flames!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of my clients are worthy of mention, but the first one to come to my mind as an inspiration is Scarlett Tart, creator of The Burlective in Denver. The Burlective is a burlesque troupe and has performed in and around Denver for a few years now. Scarlett is also a dedicated soloist, committed to learning and growing in her craft. The Burlective won best group in Mile High Burlesque Fest 2024.
