We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Hasler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started Fox and Kit Chiropractic because I saw a gap in chiropractic care for women seeking specialized chiropractic care during their pregnancies and into the postpartum period. I have focused all of my continuing education on this area of specialty so that I can provide the best care for mama’s and their families. I run my clinic with the intention of creating a space where each patient or parent of a patient can leave their visit with the knowledge that they were given care specific to their unique needs. When seeking the location for Fox and Kit Chiropractic I was incredibly blessed to find Sacred Space Therapeutics, an alternative healthcare facility where I am able to share space with independent massage therapists, acupuncturists, and other holistic healthcare providers. This has allowed me to co-treat many patients who can benefit from the shared knowledge of all these specialists in the holistic health industry.

What should our readers know about your business?
One of the biggest things that sets me apart from other chiropractors in town is the time I spend with each patient. I am the business owner, receptionist, and doctor all in one. Because I am with them from the moment they walk through the door for their appointment to scheduling for the next one, I get to hear what they would usually tell their doctor as well as the daily anecdotes that they might typically tell the receptionist. This allows me to help connect their treatment with the daily activities that they might not otherwise think to bring up to their doctor. Another great benefit of my lengthened appointment time is having the time to thoroughly assess the needs of the pregnant women who come through my office. For these women I utilize an assessment technique called Webster Technique which allows me to analyze the ligaments, muscles, and joints most affected by their pregnancy and provide the appropriate adjustments. I love being able to use this assessment and subsequent adjustment for these mama’s with as much time as they need. Mama’s are so often rushed through the prenatal appointments with other providers, here they can relax and leave feeling refreshed and able to take on their day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hiking is definitely a must when visiting Colorado! Some of my favorite local hikes to show my friends are Fox Run Regional park, where my husband and I were actually married, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, and Rampart Reservoir in Woodland Park. There’s nothing better than a refreshing drink at a local microbrewery after a long hike. A few favorites are Lost Friends Brewing an Urband Animal Brewery, as well as the dinner from the food trucks that you can often find parked out front such as Solsage or The Original Dr. Taco! For a self care day we would get massages at Sacred Space Therapeutics and brunch at Mountain View Cafe in Black Forest!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shout out to my sister, Sarah, who was the reason I found my passion for prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care. When I began chiropractic school I was living with her while she was pregnant with her first daughter. Being able to witness the profound impact that her chiropractor made on her quality of comfort during pregnancy showed me that every woman deserves to have the opportunity to experience chiropractic care during pregnancy. If it weren’t for Sarah’s encouragement to pursue continuing education regarding prenatal and postpartum chiropractic care, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
