We had the good fortune of connecting with Racquel Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Racquel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There wasn’t much of a thought process actually. God gave me a gift, I needed to pay my bills, and I have kids to raise.

I needed to learn how to multiply and monetize what I had been doing for free for 8 years so I could serve others on a greater scale, including my family.
HardBeauty is my obsessive desire to offer humanity the opportunity to rise and thrive beyond their circumstances.
I can’t do it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

January 19, 2010 I walked through the doors of Parker Valley Hope and said goodbye to my best friend, booze. In the rooms our primary purpose is to share our experience, strength, and hope with each other. The ultimate goal is that we may solve our common problems and help others to recover just as we have. Not only did it become the drive behind my own recovery, but in me grew a passion to support others in their recovery.

In 2013, I went to college and graduated with my associates with a certificate in addiction counseling, then I went on to run my own non-profit Helping Everyone Recover where I walked hand-in-hand with humanity for over 4 years. I finally became a coach in 2019.

HardBeauty is an evidence and research base Life and Recovery Coaching and wellness practice.  I was only one person in February of 2020. When the pandemic hit, I was asked to do what I do on a greater scale and serve my community so I poured every dime, tear, and resource I had to grow.
Today we have 15 contracted employees with 5-7 more onboarding by the end of the year. We are boots on the ground in Colorado and we have coaches in Arizona and Florida as well.
Our persistent skill development, Discover Your Recovery Online LIVE platform/program AND the ability to coach whomever, wherever sets us a part.

Further more my desire is to be a leader who cares for the people, who cares for the people first. Not only do we serve humanity at an even greater level but my coaches and their prosperity mean the world to me. I want Ryan to be able to raise Kiki, Savannah and her family in a home, Sabryna thriving, Nigel to be in Japan, Margot to have a summer home with her mom in Florida, Tiffany to own her home, and so on.
It has been far from easy. I lost friends, family, money, and security to jump all in with the Divine and it’s people.
In one year I have turned a $10,000 investment in myself to over  $400,000+ in one year. We seen 15 x growth. Lessons learned: trust yourself over anyone no matter how much you love them, faith in a power that’s greater is everything, keep fucking going, keep the good ones close and plug into them often.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you come to Palmer Lake, Colorado, the first place we are heading to is The Rock House for a strawberry milkshake or a scoop of cappuccino cream. After ice cream, we will head over to O’malley’s Pub for some hot wings and good company. Hopefully the owner, Jeff, is there and I can get a hug. Yup, and we are having ice cream first.

We can cross the street and visit Sherina at Finder Keepers. She has the most beautiful jewelry, gifts, and the most beautiful grey hair you have ever seen. Love you Sherina!
Finally, we can cross the new bridge over the train tracks to the lake on the other side.
We can just walk and talk. More than likely I’ll have to stop and talk to a few locals, because that’s small town living.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh this is easy…my first shout-out goes to God/Divine/Spirit, my 12 step community, and sponsor who know my ugly and still love me.

2nd, I want to shout-out to my husband and children who have sacrificed the attention of their wife and mother so I could become and do for the world.
A bonus shout-out to my mom who has been cheering me on from the sidelines my entire life, even when I didn’t deserve it.

And last but NOT least to THE BEST damn Gladiator girlfriends a woman could ask for who have rode next to me EVERY step of the way, even when it was hard.
