We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Van Horn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Randi, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have been working for myself since 2015. My work/life balance has evolved overtime and seems to be everchanging! My husband and I are expecting our first child this June. We cannot wait for our baby boy. With this life change fastly approaching, we’ve had to make some adjustments to my workflow as I’m going to have less time and would like to focus more on my family. Working less does scare me because it’s all I know / all that I’ve focused on for several years. By working less, I immediately jump to the daunting thought of my business failing. I’ve been submerging myself in podcasts and videos grasping for advice on how to balance it all and how to have it all! I’m slowing figuring it out and finding that automations and delegating are my new best friends. I’ve shifted my focus to working smarter, not harder and learning how to say NO. It is ok to let go. The clients that are loyal and truly matter will stay and support/understand that you are going through a major life change. I’ve also found setting a designated date night each week is key in having a work/life balance with your significant other. Disconnecting from all devices and social media after 7PM each night has truly helped me as well. No, I don’t work as hard as I did in 2015 but that’s for my own health and sanity. It is OK to let go and live a happy balance.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Whether it’s updating your brand or putting your social media on auto-pilot, I can help! My business is called Brand by Ran. I assist real estate agents and teams with social media content creation, publishing and branding across the United States. I have more than 10 years of experience in marketing across different social media platforms and 7 years in real estate marketing. I help businesses build brand awareness, loyalty, and advocacy by engaging influencers and communities.

Of course getting to this point has not been a walk in the park. I slowly found my niche and discovered a HUGE need in social media marketing for realtors when I moved to Dallas, Texas back in 2017. Since then, I’ve partnered with a few well-known brokerages that understand the importance in technology and marketing (Compass and The Agency). I’ve had to overcome the ever-changing world of real estate and social media, market dips and of course the COVID time period. I’ve learned hard lessons but the best lesson of all was to just keep going. If you keep adapting, you’ll forever evolve!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My husband and I moved to Colorado Springs in May 2021. Since then, we’ve explored the majority of our state and cannot get enough of it’s beauty. There’s always something to do and new trails to take. My favorite restaurant is Butterhorn Bakery & Cafe – hands down the best french toast I’ve ever had. We’ve made the drive a few times to satisfy my pregnancy cravings LOL. One of our favorite places is Sapphire Point Overlook in Dillon. Every season has been absolutely beautiful there. So many cute, little mountain towns that I would love to reside and raise my family in. Evergreen, Conifer and Dillon to name a few. We have two puggles, Peaches and Pete and they love tagging along on our adventures.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my husband for sticking by my side and supporting my ever changing work/life balances. Shoutout to Compass Real Estate and Sprout Social for giving me the proper tools and technology to make my life easier.
And shoutout to all entrepreneurs who share secrets/tips on how to balance it all as a new mom.
