Meet Riley Anne Alvarado Martin

We had the good fortune of connecting with Riley Anne Alvarado Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riley Anne, what are you inspired by?
i am inspired by all things visible and invisible. I walk through nature and hear stories to tell of beings that exist in my imagination and want to become real through my art. I am inspired by Gods and Goddesses, water and earth, fire and air. I am inspired by history and mythology and people of the past. I am inspired by beauty, bodies, love and eros. I am inspired by the moving picture of life itself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a producer of performance art that encompasses all forms of art within the pursuit of performance. Costume and set design, fine art production, choreography, film and theatre production. I got to this point in my life by consistently working towards a production with the support of fellow artists. Production needs many hands which is both challenging and fulfilling building towards a similar goal. I want the world to see and know my imagination manifested into reality through my finished works.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d bring them to Cheeseman Park, watching the grass bend over the horizon of the park. I’d bring them to the Mercury Cafe and tell them the past and mythology of the space.Id bring them to St. Marks and point out the quirks of the space I know so well. And then I’d take them out of the city and. bring them to the hills, and tell them the secrets of nature and the mountains and the front range.
