We had the good fortune of connecting with Ron Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ron, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My foundation, my skill set is really in construction, but I always gravitate to the more creative projects… I love it when a client asks me to design something for them. I get to use every bit of information, clients personality, likes and dislikes, preferences…designing a landscape and an outdoor living space with a greenhouse is a really personal reflection of who the client is, we like to build that in and create a space where people enjoy spending time into the evening!… I am naturally just drawn to projects where I can be creative but I’m not pushing something I created onto a client. I am designing an environment that I feel reflects their personality.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets us apart at Grace Terra-Sol is that we started from a love of building and surrounding ourselves with plants. My skill set being in construction and Dawn’s super power is her love of growing, not just planting but real plant care. It’s been said many ways in the past, do what you love and it won’t feel like work… I feel like our success has come from the fact that we love what we do. Getting to be creative and making a functional space, it’s very rewarding. It’s fun to see past clients proudly inviting friends over to visit and show off their greenhouse progress or barbecue in their outdoor kitchen. It’s fun to escape and read a book inside a greenhouse filled with plants. Life can get stressful sure but imagine if you could just come home, pull up a chair and a book next to your forever and relax,.. OR of course you could jump into your cold plunge out on the paver patio,.. but that’s taking your heart rate in a whole different direction!…ha!.. either way, these are great ways to escape the stress in a healthy way!.. Our goal at Grace Terra-Sol is to continually work towards building outdoor living spaces that help people to balance out the stressful parts of life with relaxation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many great areas of town now! The older bungalow houses are being purchased by young couples who really appreciate the design and they are restoring them so Park Hill , Washington Park and areas like those are fun to just find a park in and walk, Dawn and I really like some restaurants in Arvada, Namaste Indian restaurant, and Mangiami Pizza are great… To be honest, Dawn and I seriously can’t wait to just come home and tinker in the greenhouse we built for ourselves a few years ago… We go get our own lettuce, green beans and peppers and if the sun is still up, we might just eat outside!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Huge shout out to my wife Dawn Capra-Grace. Dawn has been so supportive through all of my attempts to pursue my dreams and pay bills at the same time. Dawn is an amazing artist and she is great with plants. I might make a simple greenhouse structure but Dawn is the one who really makes them beautiful.
