Meet Ryan Touhill | US Army Infantryman & Trading/Investing Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Touhill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, how does your business help the community?
In an ever-evolving world of business, we as a society have come to realize that the traditional 9-5 can be sometimes limiting. With so many opportunities budding each day, the goal of financial freedom has become more apparent to many, and there are now an incredible amount of opportunities out there to do so. With the team at OBG, we strive to teach those with the dedication to do so to truly learn the foundations of financial markets. With this knowledge, they can invest and trade from the most education frame of mind possible, helping them achieve the financial freedom that so many crave.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have had an incredibly journey since I decided to learn and teach the world of financial markets. Nothing worthwhile is without its struggle, and I have definitely faced hard times and opposition from those that doubted. However, the proudest moment I’ve had is when I came to realize that my drive was to prove those that believe in me RIGHT, instead of proving doubters wrong. With this mantra, I am proud to say that the team that I run is a very inclusive and supportive community of like-minded people. Under OBG, my team (known as Nomad), is an incredibly diverse group of people from all over the world that join together on chats and video calls all times of the day and week with a singular focus: financial literacy and financial independence. Anyone that has this goal is welcome in Nomad.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is an interesting one! I have just moved cross-country from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Colorado Springs. In my short time here, I have absolutely fallen in love with the area! The city is alive with cuisine, nightlife, and adventure. Several eateries that have 100% caught my love are Dos Santos, Coati, and Craft. From there, cocktail hour is strong in places like Shrunken Head, Ivy Wild, and District 11. I’m a sucker for karaoke, so we would definitely end the night in a place like Cowboys, The Block, or Thunder and Buttons in Old Colorado City.
The beauty of Colorado Springs is that it’s not limited to the city itself. Taking a quick trip to Garden of the Gods for a hike is always on my mind. My number one spot so far in Colorado, however, is Red Rocks Amphitheater. I ask anyone reading this that hasn’t been to a show there yet to do so. It’s transcendental.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I decided to begin this journey as a financially independent trader and investor in the fall of 2020. I had just returned home from a deployment to Afghanistan, and wanted to make the most of what I had saved. I realized that I was not a career soldier, and wanted to test the waters with what else was out there. Since I began my educational adventure, I have many to thank. However, the reason I have seen the success that I hoped for thus far is owed all to the mentorship of Alex Lugo and his trading educational organization known as Orange Beanie Global. He was formerly active duty as well, so I found an immediate kinship, and with the guidance he and the other leaders in his organization provided, I gained the confidence to truly step out of my comfort zone and master a new skillset and teach it to others.
