We had the good fortune of connecting with Rylan Coleridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rylan, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I disagree with the idea that you should “fake it until you make it.” In my opinion, that’s you changing to be like someone or something else to fit a role or mold that others want you to be. If that’s the direction you go then you lose a piece of yourself and your not authentic to you. You can only be the best at being yourself, so I don’t think you should ever “fake” who you are.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me things fell into place because I had a clear idea and I knew who my target audience was. My brand has always been about representing my peers and helping others showcase the best version of themselves. I hope to inspire others that you can pursue your dreams no matter what your age is if you just commit to your vision and allow that vision to be a reflection of yourself and your passions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The day would start with breakfast at this little French bakery in my hometown because they have the best crepes and “bomb” coffee. Next we would head to the farmer’s market to browse the shops and purchase local produce. A stop at the nail salon would get us prepped to head to my favorite local festival, Parker Days, where we would have a blast riding every single ride and pig out on funnel cakes. The night would end in my backyard with an outdoor movie and s’mores by the fire pit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to send a shoutout to my sisters by sash. They have supported my platform and shared in my journey as we work together to strengthen our community as youth leaders.
