We had the good fortune of connecting with Sakile Melchishua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sakile, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my ability to find hope when things get tough. I am a fairly new brand with much room for expansion, which extends to every aspect of my life and self. Lately, I’ve been dealing with mental health challenges which has darkened my perspective for staying on course. I wanted to give up and shut down Ngozi’s Alcove many times because it felt pointless to continue when thousands of people have businesses like mine and are doing better than me. What inspires this hope which in turn encourages me to keep moving forward, are my friends, family, and clients when they tell me how I positively improved their lives. Ngozi’s Alcove has morphed beyond a dream, Ngozi’s Alcove is now a tangible representation of my being able to help bring more light to this planet in a teeny tiny way and it’s more than enough.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ngozi’s Alcove is a spiritually safe space that combines divination, sound healing, and psychic-somatic education to inspire others to deepen their connection with themselves. Its grounded approach to spirituality is what sets it apart. I am proud of how long Ngozi’s Alcove has lasted despite the years I kept it hidden because of my fear of failure. I am currently working to make Ngozi’s Alcove a high-vibrational household name worthy of the spotlight, and I am excited to see how far its reach will go. It has not been an easy journey to success, and unfortunately, I am not where I want to be from a sales perspective. The main challenge I am facing is my inability to invest in better marketing and professional development opportunities because I have limited access to my local community. Additionally, it has been difficult overcoming imposter syndrome, but I am no quitter, and I am learning that what I have to offer through Ngozi’s Alcove is important. I want the world to know that Ngozi’s Alcove is on the way to center stage despite the height of the mountain I have yet to summit, and I come with gifts bearing the seeds for compassionate change.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first place I would take my friend would be breakfast at Snooze A.M. Eatery, then a hike on Morrison Trailhead, weather permitting. I would then take my friend to Hudson Hill for drinks and good vibes. Additionally, I would ensure my friend does not leave Denver without gaining inspiration from Meow Wolf and the Denver Art Museum. I would also take them to dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant, Trattoria Stella, and catch a fun show at the Bluebird Theater. We would make time to head to Spiritways to stock up on our witchy supplies, maybe get a Tarot reading, and watch the stars enjoying another magical show at Redrocks. Before sending them off to the airport, I would have them join a class at Samadhi Yoga Sangha and gift them local Colorado honey from Bjorns. A few other places we would check out would be the ISKON temple, Denver Brewing Company, the Butterfly Pavillion, and shopping at Larimer Square.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to the wonderful folks at Spiritways Denver, who gave me the confidence to continue toward my success as a spiritual entrepreneur despite the hardships of external circumstances. I would also like to dedicate my shoutout to the wonderful souls who chose to become my clients. They are the people who inspire me to have more faith in myself as I often doubt my abilities as an educator and mentor. Finally, I want to thank my family, God, and ancestors because I would not be here without their unconditional love and support.
