Meet Rochonne Sanchez | Co Founder & Chief Glow Officer | Eossi Beauty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochonne Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rochonne, what role has risk played in your life or career?
For the longest time I thought chasing my next promotion, being granted that next level up title, and having the security that comes with a corporate job would be all that I needed in life. It wasn’t until I started to really take the time to learn what being fulfilled in my work and life meant to me that I realized the never ending chase of the next big promotion was actually crushing me. I am a human with big responsibilities; a single mom to two kids living on her own in Denver and managing all that comes along with that so choosing to start my own company wasn’t an easy decision. I am luckier than most in that I have an amazing co-founder and we truly understand one another and balance each other nicely, but we still self funded Eossi Beauty and there’s massive amounts of risk in that. My partner was able to work full time for us sooner than I was and I really struggled with the decision to give up my 6 figure corporate career that I worked so hard over the last 15 years to build, but I knew that if I didn’t take that risk right alongside her that I wouldn’t ever know the true joy that comes from building something from nothing, making a huge investment in yourself, and risking everything on a dream. Making that final decision for resign from my corporate job at the end of 2020 felt a lot like it did when I asked my ex-husband for a divorce 5 years ago. It was terrifying, and even though I knew it was the right decision, there was still a voice in my head telling me that it wasn’t worth the risk. However, I genuinely believe that our lives are so much richer when we’re living authentically and vulnerably which meant I owed it to myself to throw caution to the wind and whole heartedly believe in our ability to make Eossi Beauty unbelievably successful.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As we come up on spring amidst this pandemic I am greatly looking forward to some sunny social distancing on my favorite rooftops and patios! My absolute favorite patio is at Postino LoHi – their $5 happy hour wine until 5 M-F can’t be beat, the crowd is always lively and engaged ensuring a great vibe, and I can’t get enough of those bruschetta boards! Last summer some friends and I found that Confluence Park was the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning and afternoon. You can safely distance, enjoy some awesome people watching, and bring a picnic!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the women that I am lucky enough to call my friends, my family. The support and belief that I have received from this amazing group of women that I consider my sisters is awe inspiring. There’s something to be said for keeping your circle small but allowing yourself to be truly vulnerable in how you present yourself to your people. The late night phone calls to talk through a writing block and afternoons with wine brainstorming on growth strategies, to simply confirming that you are more than worthy of every single thing you’re manifesting – I owe these women more than I can ever return.
