We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarabeth Wolbrom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarabeth, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When I was in elementary school, I started my own Pokemon trading card business. I would essentially serve as a consultant for other kids playing Pokemon, and in return, I would get some epic Pokemon cards. This entrepreneurial spirit followed me into my mid-20s when I picked up a DSLR camera for the first time. At the time, I was dating a photographer who taught me the ins and outs of photography and how to start your own business. His passion for photography was contagious, and I was eager to start my photography journey. Starting my own photography business unleashed a creative side that I didn’t know I had. With my photography business, I was not only able to build my own unique brand from the ground up, I was also able to have the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do and work with whoever I wanted to work with. This freedom is something I have never experienced before and is one of the best things about starting your own business. I believe freedom and creativity are vital for entrepreneurs to be successful, and I encourage anyone thinking about starting their own business to take the plunge and do it!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve come a long way since I bought my first camera in 2014! This year, I am most excited about launching my new website and getting to work with so many great couples this year in some pretty epic places in Colorado. I think what sets me apart from others and why my couples choose me is because of my ability to connect with them on a deeper level than your typical wedding vendor. I am extroverted and get my energy from being around people, so being a photographer is essentially a dream career for someone like me. I love making my clients laugh and be silly, especially during photo sessions; they create the most genuine moments! That’s what I’m all about. For most people, being photographed is a bit of an awkward experience. My job is to try to make everything way less awkward and more fun by really getting to know my people and letting them get to know me. Photography isn’t just about pictures – it’s about the experience. I love making my clients feel special and focusing my energy on making our time together awesome.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The photography world is a beautiful community to be a part of. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of this community, especially one of the best photography educators I know, Megan Macphail. Megan was actually my wedding photographer! I was so inspired by her and loved her so much that I’ve been investing in my photography education through the many great resources she offers. If you’re thinking about becoming an elopement photographer, you need to check her out!
