We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Bayles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, how does your business help the community?
At Kathy Santo Dog Training, our goal is to help families create the dog that everyone loves to have around!

We want dogs to stay WITH their families, and to do that, we help solve behaviors ranging from minor, nuisance behaviors (puppy mouthing or biting, barking, pulling on a leash, digging, etc) to more complex behavioral issues such as separation anxiety, reactivity, aggression, resource guarding, and multi-dog household issues.

We’ve seen an influx of “Pandemic Puppies” during the past year, and we’re deeply committed to help educate all dog and puppy owners about how to train their canine best friend!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart from other dog training companies is that we don’t take a cookie cutter approach to training.

We treat every dog and every student as a unique individual and cater the training plan to what works for THEIR lifestyle and how their dog learns best!

We want to help families create the lifelong canine companion that they always wanted to have! And, because of our extensive experience, we know that what works for one family, may not work for another.

Some families may want a dog who can be walked by ANY family member (even the kids!) and enjoys a game of fetch in the backyard. Others may want a dog who can settle and be calm hanging out on a brewery patio after hiking. What excites us most is when we can see the dog and their owners becoming a team, and truly getting to enjoy life TOGETHER!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop would be a drive over Horsetooth Reservoir to show them those incredible views (with the dogs of course!) Tons of nice walking trails up there too. From there I always like to suggest either renting a paddle board or kayak, or even a boat or jet ski for a few hours to check out all the coves and inlets from the water! Lory State Park is always a great option for hiking trails or picnic spots. For food I love taking people to Snooze for breakfast, Choice City Deli for lunch, and Blue Agave for dinner! Tasty Harmony is another favorite lunch or dinner spot. A lot of times we’ll grab sandwiches and then head up to drive through Poudre Canyon! I love sharing with friends and family the beauty of this place we get to call home!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The head trainer and owner of the company, Kathy Santo! Our main dog training school is located in NJ (which is where I started off with the company!), I am incredibly lucky to have such a knowledgeable mentor within this industry who has been training dogs and their families for over 30 years!
