We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Rincon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My decision to start my own business was deeply rooted in both personal passion and a clear need I saw within the Hispanic community. Growing up, I witnessed how intergenerational trauma can impact families, often going unaddressed due to cultural stigmas around mental health. This inspired me to create a space where individuals and couples could begin breaking free from those cycles of trauma. It was important to me to offer culturally informed therapy that not only acknowledges the unique challenges faced by the Hispanic community but also honors our ancestral roots.
I also wanted to provide therapy in my native tongue, Spanish, because I believe that healing happens more naturally when people can express themselves fully in the language that feels most comfortable. So many in our community struggle with mental health issues that are often overlooked or misunderstood, and I felt a strong desire to bring attention to these issues, offering support that goes beyond traditional therapy. I envisioned a practice that embraces a holistic approach, one that integrates mental, emotional, and cultural well-being.
Furthermore, I wanted to build something that reflected my professional values. With my expertise in trauma-focused therapies like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Intimacy From The Inside Out (IFIO), I knew I could create an environment where clients felt safe to explore deeper parts of themselves, while also receiving the intensive care they needed. Starting my own practice allowed me to have the autonomy to do just that—to tailor my work to each client’s unique needs, and offer relationship and EMDR intensives that go beyond surface-level healing.
Ultimately, my goal has always been to uplift my community, help people reconnect with themselves, and provide the kind of holistic, culturally responsive care that’s often missing in mainstream therapy. By focusing on mental health, breaking trauma cycles, and creating a space for healing in Spanish, I hoped to build something meaningful and impactful for those who need it most.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is my deep desire to get to the root of people’s stories and pain. I’m not just interested in surface-level solutions—I’m committed to understanding the full context of someone’s life, especially how trauma, culture, and personal history shape their experiences. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, blending different therapeutic techniques to help people heal deeply and sustainably. I’m driven by a genuine passion for helping individuals and couples reconnect with themselves and their communities in meaningful ways.
I’m most proud of creating a business that honors my collectivist values and desire to build a strong, supportive community. My practice isn’t just about providing therapy; it’s about uplifting the people around me, especially those from marginalized groups. Offering sliding scale slots specifically for my BIPOC and queer clients is one way I ensure my work is accessible to those who need it most. I’m also incredibly excited about the intensive short-term trauma care I offer, which allows people to dive deep into their healing journey in a condensed, yet impactful way.
No, it hasn’t been easy—but it’s my dream come true. Every challenge and every step along the way has been worth it. I feel incredibly blessed to have my own business, and this journey has shown me just how powerful and resilient my community truly is. I’ve been able to lean on the support of the people around me, and that sense of connection has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience. Despite the difficulties, I wouldn’t change a thing because I’m doing the work I love, with the people I care about most.
I want the world to know that there is immense power in our ancestral ties, just as there is in healing our relational wounds and connecting with our inner child. Our internal desires and struggles are shaped by both our lived experiences and the systems at play in the world around us. For my community, I want them to know that I am here to walk alongside them on this healing journey. There is so much to honor, witness, and acknowledge in our stories. Your story matters. Your mental health matters. And your desire to break out of intergenerational cycles of pain and trauma matters. The impact of leaning into this healing process is far greater than you may imagine. I hope that everyone finds a space that honors their full, authentic selves because they deserve it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the best places to go in Denver include Watercourse and City O’ City, which are must-visits for their incredible vegan dishes. For a relaxing day, Cheesman Park is perfect for sunbathing and unwinding. If you’re a coffee lover, MOB Coffee is my go-to spot—their flavors are amazing! My favorite is the matcha with oat milk and their berry syrup.
Also, be sure to check out Sakala. It’s a unique healing space that offers workshops on tantric intimacy, breathwork, and meditation, creating a community for all forms of healing. I’m actually excited to be hosting events there soon! These will be for people who aren’t quite ready for therapy but want to start exploring inner child healing, reconnecting with our yoni and womb space and couples intimacy workshops. Keep an eye out for those events!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my incredible parents for always honoring my desires and dreams. As immigrants, they faced countless hardships, and I feel so grateful for the sacrifices they made to give me opportunities they never had. Their strength, resilience, and unwavering belief in me have been the foundation of everything I’ve achieved. They supported me every step of the way, even when the road was uncertain, and always encouraged me to follow my passions. I am forever thankful for their love and dedication, and I carry their hard work and sacrifices with me in everything I do.
