We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarina Baptista and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarina, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
I have what most would term an unconventional business. I did not wake up one day and say, “Oh, yes! Let’s talk to dead people for a living!” It is, however, my life’s purpose, and, since I am doing what I love, I enjoy going to work every day. My work is meaningful, purposeful, and very fulfilling. I help people heal from the trauma of losing a loved one, and I help people find their way for their own lives, finding their own purpose. When I advise others on their career paths, we always must consider passion – what is their passion? If we don’t feel passionate about what we do, it can deplete our energy, leaving nothing for our lives outside of work. Find your passion. That is such an important lesson!

What should our readers know about your business?
I was a software quality assurance engineer in the Silicon Valley back in the late 90’s, giving me a methodical thought process and skepticism about the “woo-woo” realm. I believe it is this experience that sets me apart from others in my profession. I am able to see both sides, literally. When my son passed in 2007, it was hard for me to believe he was communicating with me. When I learned I was a medium, it was even more challenging to step into the world of the unseen because of that very logical mind processing. My son worked overtime getting my attention, convincing me what was happening was real, very real. It is because of this skepticism that I am very good at my job. I did not take anything at face value. I used that logical thinking, marriaged with the intuitive side of me, to hone my abilities and skills. When I did learn I was a psychic medium, I worked diligently to be that clear receiver required to bring healing to my clients. I was only six months into my own grief journey, so I was also working through grieving the loss of my son, while pushing my limits as an intuitive. It was a very painful process, but I knew this was my life’s purpose. I pushed on, practicing, honing, learning. There were a couple of times I almost gave up because of the frustration and grief, but knowing I would be helping others to heal from their experiences, especially parents who lost children, I kept going. One huge lesson I learned, particularly for my profession, is training is paramount. Great psychics and mediums hone their abilities through training. I do not know how I would have ever learned how to be a great psychic medium without training. I am now almost 14 years on this journey. I have been seeing clients in person, via Zoom and via phone for almost 13 1/2 of those years. I thank my son, who is with me every day, for his persistence! Without him, I certainly would have given up in that first year. Because of him, I am honored to help people every day to find their purpose, closure, to heal, and to learn for themselves how to connect with the world unseen.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s time to go to Estes Park! We will be staying at the Stanley Hotel, known for its resident spirits. We will take the Night Tour to learn more about these residents, and maybe even have some interactions with them! We will be eating at China Garden restaurant, the best Chinese food in the Rockies! We might also hop over to the Estes Park Brewery for a quick microbrew, or over to Elkins Distilling Company if whiskey is your thing. A drive or hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park is a must. Fall is a great time to visit, with the fall colors and the Elk Fest. But any time of year is wonderful for walking down main street to visit the shops. The Christmas Shoppe is full of ornaments and all things Christmas, and is open year round. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is a chocolate lover’s dream! If you like cherry pie, there’s also the Colorado Cherry Company cafe in the Stanley Hotel. The people are wonderful and the fresh mountain air is amazing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to John Holland, my mentor. It was his book, “Power of the Soul”, that helped lead me to my gifts. He is a compassionate, kind, and very gifted medium, who freely gives his wisdom to others. Thank you, John, for everything!
