We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Latimer Lynch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business because I never liked having a boss. I’ve never been good at having a daily routine. My brain works in waves so, everyday I have a new idea for my company.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To be completely honest I don’t even know how I got here. Sometimes, I look back at where I started and where I am now and I’m shocked that it all worked out. When I started my career with Instagram I had no idea what I was doing, I took every job that I could. I remember having a really hard time at the beginning, because work can be very sporadic, and not having a consistent pay coming through as an 18 year old out in LA is hard. Luckily it all worked out. I feel a little like that with my candle company right now. We’re in our first year of business and each day is a new challenge. Thats part of what makes it so fun, and also a little intimidating.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a hard question because there are so many amazing restaurants in Denver. But, if I had one day with my best friend, I would start the morning off getting coffee and scones at Steam. We would walk around Wash Park and people watch. When we got hungry for lunch I would take him/her to Trattoria Stella to order pasta and wine, or maybe we would walk around Old South Pearl St. to see what caught our eye. Then I would take him/her to Little Man’s Ice Cream and show him/her around Lohi. For dinner, I think we would either go to Tavernetta or Osteria Marco.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents! They’ve always been so supportive of everything I do. I’ve changed my career path many times and they’re always by my side rooting me on! My dad is always helping me think of new ideas on how I can improve my business. I love brainstorming with him.
My mother also owns her own business so she’s been a huge inspiration for me.
I feel very fortunate to have parents that inspire me and push me to follow my dreams.
