We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott & Monica Bonynge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott & Monica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My wife and I realized how much we had changed through our healing process with Shamans, Reiki Masters, Shadow work and the variety of healing modalities we used, to heal our trauma. Through our healing we opened up more to who we truly are and the abilities we have to help others. We realized how much the world needs this kind of healing work so we dove into our education to be able to start a business and bring our experiences and healing to others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a husband and wife team, we feel our business is a bit more diverse and unique. Many of our healing sessions can be done with both of us which means you receive double the energy work. I, Scott, am a Shaman and it is my strongest work so I bring in Shamanic Energy Healing while Monica focuses on Reiki and her intuitiveness. She will often be guided to do extra during a session because of her intuition. We feel we really are a powerful team!

Our business has been a process that is filled with love and compassion as well as strength. We have put our true essence into this business, building it slowly and incorporating more healing modalities as we were guided intuitively, to do. It is constantly changing and growing and it hasn’t been easy. We don’t feel starting any business is easy but it is our passion and we wouldn’t change a thing. Each struggle and each goal has been a huge blessing and we have learned so much from this process. We have learned the importance of having a consultation with any new client first. It’s important to gain insight into what they need and what their biggest struggles are. This allows us to create a session that will fully assist the client and their needs, in that moment. We were too rigid before as in you pick your session, and we move forward. Now we see how valuable it is for our clients to have that consultation first to really get a feel for their needs. At times they don’t even know their needs until we start talking. It’s about being open to flow and structure is good, but it needs to be flexible as well.

The biggest thing we want people to know about us and our business is that we were once lost in our own trauma. We put ourselves through intensive healing to get to the point of being able to receive the education necessary, to have our business and help others. We find that most people don’t even know they have trauma because their belief of what trauma actually is, is in fact wrong. We all have trauma. In order to be our best self and to live our best life, we have to do some form of healing. It is the only way to see your true self and the power you hold. Going within is the key. Doing the work is life changing and we are blessed to be part of that journey. It is what fuels us each day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love showing friends around and sharing in some of the best times here in Colorado. Our first stop would be Saltgrass Steakhouse. We love the fun, casual atmosphere that allows you to relax, have great conversation while indulging in amazing food. We would have to include the sights of Rocky Mountain Park and it’s all of its splendor. While there we would be sure to do some shopping in Estes park, our favorite place to spend a day. It’s important to include the tram in Estes to sit atop the mountain and feed the chipmunks. We can spend hours up there in nature while taking in the breathtaking views. Pikes peak is a must see and the drive is amazing if you can handle heights! An evening at 7 Fall is a wonderful way to round out the day with it’s calming beauty and energy. Of course we would have to see the Royal Gorge and it’s impressive beauty and awe. We do love the Denver Aquarium for a day of indoor fun as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
