We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanna Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
This company was born of a love for animals and community. I was craving a way to connect with my community and my passions. What better way than to harness my talents and create a platform that gives back?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a freelance, multi-disciplined artist my work is a blend of all mediums and subject matter interest. The Rescue Designs was a challenge in honing in. Creating a mission focused lifestyle brand allowed me and forced me to deliver a consistent product and style. Our customers LOVE the consistent approach to custom goods. This brand is focused on the good stuff.! The joy of animals and nature and what they offer us. Shopping small and giving big. We donate 25% of all sales to animal rescue + welfare efforts across the USA!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Gotta hit the hot springs! I have a lot of wonderful friends in Colorado. Introducing my best friend (from Texas) to them would really complete a part of my heart. I’m also a sucker for the Colorado Cherry Company & Arte Pizza, both of which are here in Loveland, Colorado. 😉 Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to all my previous colleagues who taught me the only thing that matters is what and who you go home to.
