We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelly Schell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shelly, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for my influence on women to live the lifestyle they want. When women can connect their values and purpose with their spending they make a foundational shift in behavior. I love educating and motivating women to create alignment with their spending. This is a movement that transcends generations.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Aligned Living and through my work as a financial advisor and educator, I focus on helping women align their spending with their values. I believe that purposeful spending is about much more than managing dollars and cents—it’s about creating a life of balance, meaning, and intentionality. My approach centers on guiding women to uncover their core values, evaluate their financial habits, and make intentional choices that support both their short-term goals and long-term dreams.

What sets us apart is our emphasis on education and empowerment. I am deeply proud of how our programs, like the Aligned Money Mindset workbook and interactive tools, not only teach financial literacy but also foster confidence. This isn’t about restriction or sacrifice—it’s about creating freedom and fulfillment by ensuring that every dollar spent is a reflection of your values and priorities.

The journey to where I am today wasn’t always easy. Like many entrepreneurs and professionals, I faced moments of doubt, unexpected challenges, and the uphill battle of balancing my personal and professional life. However, these challenges taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of collaboration. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that clarity comes from action. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start; the act of pursuing your goals helps shape the vision.

What excites me the most is the impact we’re making, not just in helping individuals improve their financial lives but in inspiring generational change. Through our programs, women—and often their children—are learning that money isn’t just a tool for survival but a resource for creating joy, security, and legacy.

Ultimately, I want the world to know that Aligned Living is more than a business—it’s a movement. It’s about helping people live more intentionally, sustainably, and confidently by aligning their spending with what truly matters to them. Whether it’s through our workshops, one-on-one advising, or the products we feature, our mission remains the same: to inspire others to live in alignment with their values and create a ripple effect of positive change.

This work is personal for me. As a mother, wife, and co-founder of multiple ventures, I understand how vital it is to find harmony between passion, purpose, and practicality. And I’m committed to helping others do the same..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them hiking at Red rocks. I also love Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and of course a stop at the Broadmore is historic. Downtown Denver is another great trip and depending on the season I love to go arch the Rockies play at Coors field.. Another treat is Casa Bonita

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad taught me to trade stocks when I was 10 years old. I am grateful for learning how money works at such a young age. I am also grateful that he taught me that I could be and do anything I wanted but that I had to understand that hard work pays off.

I’m also grateful for my family husband and kids for understanding what it means tor me to own my own business.
