We had the good fortune of connecting with Spenser Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Spenser, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I have to be very productive in my working hours. I find that I get so much more accomplished when I give myself breaks. These include breaks for myself, my littles, and date nights with my fiancé. We are a family of 8 so the balance is real when juggling a career, 6 kids, and all of their busy schedules. When life got busier, ironically I became more organized. I used to struggle and get highly distracted when I gave myself less personal time. I found that my productivity levels were lacking but somehow I was working more. Currently, I have implemented block times between 2-4 hours and give my full attention and energy to it. Let me just say, I can get done in a few productive hours what it used to take me a few days to attain. Time has definitely opened my eyes to this balance and I am so thankful I am able to fully enjoy life and work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is rooted in capturing authentic, candid moments filled with movement and emotion. What sets me apart as a wedding and elopement photographer is my focus on telling a story that feels real and alive. I’m not just documenting an event; I’m capturing the essence of a couple’s love story in a way that’s unique to them. Whether it’s the quiet moments of connection, the laughter shared between friends, or the breathtaking landscapes of an elopement, I strive to create images that resonate on a deeper level.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with the couples I photograph. Being entrusted with such an important role in their lives is something I don’t take lightly, and I’m always excited to bring their visions to life in a way that feels true to who they are.

Getting to where I am today professionally hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. The journey has been filled with challenges, from building my business to balancing work and personal life. Each obstacle taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, creativity, and the importance of staying true to my vision. I’ve learned that growth comes from embracing the challenges and continuously pushing myself to evolve as an artist.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that my work is driven by a deep love for storytelling and human connection. The beauty is in all of the little details, touches, mannerisms, and glances. Love is magic and capturing it all is such a blessing!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I could list so many places that are favorites of mine here in Colorado, however I believe a good peaceful, challenging nature experience trumps everything else. I would highly recommend backpacking to an Alpine lake and camping for the night. There is something so serene about this experience that brings an immense amount of clarity and stress free personal time. Nature therapy at it’s finest!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so grateful for the journey I’ve been on as a wedding and elopement photographer, and I wouldn’t be here without the incredible support system I’ve had along the way. First and foremost, I want to shout out my daughters, who inspire me every day with their joy, curiosity, and the way they see the world. Their perspectives remind me to find beauty in the smallest moments and keeps me grounded in the work that I do.

I also want to acknowledge the couples who have trusted me with capturing their most intimate and significant moments. Their love stories fuel my passion and push me to constantly evolve as an artist. Each wedding is a unique adventure, and I’m so thankful for the relationships I’ve built with them.

Lastly, my friends, fiancé, and family have been my rock, offering endless encouragement and love. My fiancé ( also named Spencer ) has such an incredible perspective and outlook on life. He has guided me through a lot of life challenges and pushed me into a stronger more resilient me and I am so thankful for him!
